I had 3000 enemies on screen and there wasn't a single serious fps drop. Any fps drop I saw was minor at the very least. The worst framerate drops I saw the entire 39 minutes playing the demo is when you destroy one of those watchtowers. (Its obvious thats a part of the game that didn't receive much processing power) Atleast it seems like it didn't.
The gameplay is kind of broken I agree with you there. The problem is there are no proper sounds or visual cues to let you know you are actually hit these god damn things and personally I think the developers wish to throw as many enemies on screen as they can ultimately limited this game in a big way (Heavenly Sword likely wont use so many and thats one of the many reasons why heavenly sword will be a much better game) In god of war when you are fighting these really big enemies you KNOW when you are hitting them in n3 that isn't the case at all.
Then again thats what we get when they use a tweaked xbox 1 engine for the game. I really look forward to the kingdom under fire rpg thats being made with a new engine and mizuguchi has another 360 game in the works (which should be his TRUE 360 project in my opinion)
Blue Dragon Blue Dragon Blue Dragon.
It's insanely easy to die once a stronger character comes along though. You have NO TIME to figure out what's going on on a first encounter. The level design is shit here so the graphics/design can't really be commented on. I hope to god the retail version has the japanese voices (korean?) in there because Sonic Heroes beats this, acting wise.
I haven't really figured out the combo system yet. Not the combos themselves, mind, but how the mechanics fit together, because I'm under the impression that there's some PS2 Shinobi or Gunvalkyrie stuff going on here where you can become good enough to keep the orby stuff charged up.
Anyway, I'll prolly pick it up once it's released simply because I'm Mizu and Q's bitch. We'll see then if there's stuff in here that people generally miss, Gunvalkyrie/Shinobi style.

ORLY?
Try when there's a huge amount of enemies, for example the part right before the trolls come, do the special attack (the huge blue light that just kills them all, not the "special attacks"), frames will drop pretty badly--again, considering how average it looks. And that's also true, the towers cause framerate drops, not to mention they are also a pain to destroy............another negative for gameplay.
@simon
Good point on level design. Freaking fog all over the place (to hide draw distance and save processing power maybe?), and then the level is just messy, "where the hell do I go from here?"
Oh and it's pretty sad if you actually get the game just because you are a bitch (lol), buying crap results in the crap supply to increase.
Did you agree with me? Yes, No? Visit http://www.lebato.blogspot.com and see if we agree on something.
But other than that the game is quite good, like I expected it be. I am most definetaly gonna pick this game as soon it hits europe.

Gameplay: Kind of broken.
Really, it's just press x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x,x ,x ,x ,x ,x ,x oh and x. It's nice how your character comes up with some moves but it gets old really quick really. Fighting the troll makes you notice the broken gameplay, the freaking troll looks as if he's not taking any damage, and yes, I lost to it and I don't plan on going back, I've seen enough. When you are fighting a bunch of enemies, you get lost in the crowd, but since the gameplay is so.............."simple" you know you only have to press x and x for the 1000th time and you'll be alright. And like someone else said, camera is a hassle, really annoying camera.
Graphics: I think they are so-so.
The areas are pretty empty and character models (the main ones) are nothing to be impressed. The game shines in battles with all the enemies and especially during special attacks, the special effects are really nice, all the way down to the blue trail after every slash of your sword. There's one problem though. If there are too many enemies on-screen and you cause mayhem, the framerate starts to dip which is really dissapointing.
Sound: Voice acting is horrific. "land-slide"-- COME ON!!! I won't bother discribing, it's just really bad. And as Blim pointed out in a preview, lyp-synch is pretty bad too. Other than that, the background music is nice.
And that's about it. I would give this game's gameplay a 7, graphics a 7, and sound a 6. So conclusion? There's nothing to the gameplay, the graphics are average, the sound is equally average, it's a pretty average game, yep.
I think it was everything i hoped for and more :-D
Ok de gfx aren't that great but i only notice the 'meh' gfx when i'm not fighting and when i'm just killing them all it looks awesome! i really the red bar special attack where you blast those beams at all directions and you see all those orcs flying in the air and it just gives you that great feeling of power. Without even noticing i was shouting I was going like : 'eat that bitch' and 'Oh hell you did not just hit me! eat this!' etc. My adrenaline just came way up when I'm hacking and slashing those hundreds and thousands of orcs :-D I know the gameplay is simple but so what? I mean come on did you really expect that in a game where you have to beat hundreds of orc all together, to have really deep going and intense gameplay elements? No 'cause it's just a simple hack&slash game and that's the key thing in this game. It's just simply hacking and slashing hundreds of enemy's and doing all those super moves with the press of a couple of buttons. It just makes you feel powefull when you do all the combo's and super moves and then you look on the right and you see 2002 hit combo and 3004 enemy's killed and you like hell yeah! That's what makes this game fun :-D
And for the only pressing X, I think your stupid if you do that. That means before you go play you automatically go: Ah this is simple i'll just press 1 button. But if you combine the Y, X and the A you can make awesome moves. I made a combo that lasted very long just by tapping the buttons and made my yawn drop. Yes it is a button masher but who cares. I think most people don't wanna learn difficult combo's in this type of game. They want simple gameplay and just slash those orcs.
Yes i've had some framedrops but nothing serious just slowed down for 2 seconds and it was up again.
I also like to comment to everyone who has negative comments. Yes there are some negative things in this demo. Framedrops, gfx not that good, lipsync and voice over horrible etc. But it's just a demo for god sake. In the final version most of the things will be fixed I'm sure of it. The demo of Kameo was gfx wise not very good and had some other issues but when I played the full game and the same level that was all gone so don't judge a game to fast over a demo.
That's all I gotta say and you can all react negative to my reply if you want 'cause i know it's gonna happen
Oh yeah and I'm so gonna buy this game!
I thought the sound effects were ok and the voice acting was certainly passable. Really, I don't know why people keep calling the voice acting in this game "horrific" or "horrible." I still love the music in this game, so at least that's a plus for me. :)
The gameplay was very fun... it definitely can be a button masher but once you start learning the combos, the fun factor goes way up. Sure, pressing X a thousand times will get you somewhat far but it's apparent that you'll eventually have to learn your character's special combo attacks if you want to survive longer. And that can be said about many games... I mean, really, just thinking of games like Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, and God of War... those were all games that you could mash buttons in but are incredibly fun when you learn all the special combos. This is no different, in my opinion. The only gripe I have with the gameplay is the fact that there are no checkpoints (as many have said already). It really isn't a big gripe for me yet, though, as I'm having fun playing through the demo over and over. However, I can definitely see where the checkpoint issue will get frustrating after awhile.
Overall, I'm having loads of fun with this demo and will most definitely pick up a copy when it comes out!
The fact is that you can play throughout the demo by just pressing x, it's that generic. Yes, you may add Y and jump, but you are still pressing buttons like crazy. In other words, once you get to the enemies, you can close your eyes and just press x repeteadly, you'll do fine. The game's hack n' slash nature kills it at the troll fight, since you really don't have control over your character's combos (where to stop) , it can get very annoying and the troll will kick your arse.
How helpful were your AI buddies? Do you really need them or are they just there to make things even more messy? Why do I get to tell them what to do if I see no results?
How many times did you use the block button?
Did you figure out the "map"?
No checkpoints, how cool?
Perhaps I just like working for results, a game like Ninja Gaiden where you really have to work for the impressive combos is way more satifying, even with only 5 enemies on screen. But whatever, games like N3 get old quick.
The game won't be fixed, every problem in the demo will be in the final build--want to bet? You'd have to donate 20 bux to xboxyde through paypal :)
They won't fix the voices, that's done, those voices are not placeholders. And really, I thought FarCry's voice acting was bad, this game has the worst voice acting ever.
If you like this button masher, that's fine, but the fact is the game has no deph and will pass on history as one more of the bunch, a game no one will remember, you know why? Because chances are a game of this kind--but a thousand times better--will come out (during this generation) and will make a game like N3 look like what it is, an average game.
But that's just my opinion.

I'll just reply to your Ninja Gaiden comment, I don't know about GOW or DMC.
In Ninja Gaiden, you will not get past the first few enemies if you only press x, or add y, (especially at difficulties higher than "normal") you actually have to do some other moves--including things like interacting with the environment--to survive, you actually have to use the block button, think FAST and act as fast. I will stop there and recommend you read some NG reviews as it seems you haven't played it. NG is one of those incredible games you see every now and then, please, PLEASE, don't compare with N3...........there' Dinasty Warriors for that.

Personally i think its all down to personal preference, no matter how good a game is, not everyone will enjoy it, its as simple as that. Still to this day, i believe ReZ (On Dreamcast, Also made by Miziguchi) is one of the most basic/simplistic games created in terms of skill needed, but what made it truly great was its style and ideas, which is kinda the same feeling i get when i play this game. Oh how i've missed these great Japenese games, its been a while :)

I own Ninja Gaiden Black... one of my favorite games. :) And you most certainly can mash buttons to get through the first level of the game. It gets progressively harder and you're forced to learn combos, use your surroundings, and work on your timing. While I'm not saying that N3 and Ninja Gaiden Black are similar games, I'm saying that there are other good games out there that can be percieved as button mashers but really have a lot of depth once you get into it and learn all of what the game has to offer.
I'm sure as you progress in N3, the game will get harder and harder. Plus, you can most likely change the difficulty setting in the options if you still find the game too easy (like Ninja Gaiden and other games). Usually, game demos of this type are always on easier settings or are a preview of the game's tutorial/first level in the final build so I wouldn't be too harsh on the gameplay just yet if I were you. Anyway, I get the feeling that you just flat out hate this game (which is fine) so I'm not going to try to convince you to play it. :P
I do agree about your comment on the npc's though. They do feel pretty useless but I kinda get the feeling they are there to just "soak" up some of the damage while you do the dirty work. It would be nice if they were able to kill more efficiently without your help but it's a minor complaint for me.
I would say this game is a must buy if you love the Kingdom Under Fire series and it's at least worth a rental if you like action games. As for me, can't wait for it!
The move where Asphar blasts a blue light out and decimates a whole battlefield was cool, but I really didn't like being so powerful all the time. It would be cool if you had to parry attacks individually, and then quickly slay them and work onto the next. Maybe not put so many, or give your reinforcements some brains. It was the sheer stupidity of the that really killed me, not the Cavetroll.

Thing is Lebato different people expect different things from their games, I'm just as happy picking up a hack and slack (like this) for 30 minutes of mindless fun as i am playing an MMO for 5 hours.
I agree that hack and slash titles can get very boring (I even found NG boring at times).
You mention that it pissed you off that the troll was so hard, but it's not that different to the bosses in NG that could kill you in 2-3 hits. (sure there is no check points which i agree is a bad move)
Sure this game is no gameplay award winner but we knew that months ago when Blim did the first video's for it. (why are you acting so surprised now ?)
