meh... story is pretty shit so far, up to the bit were he gets bald head, game mechanics are great though am loving the action, r* never seem drop the ball in this area

I was actually a bit surprised playing it. I expected it to be great but I mean this game gave me chills at some points. I really am enjoying it. I plan on buying it for the PC even though i have completed majority of the game from renting it, it is definitely worth the 60 dollars.

From what I've seen of later in the game, it's impossible to just "run and gun" and shoot-dodge, it's essential to use cover. And the enemies get more bullet spongy. That's pretty sad.

Will wait for PC version if aiming's fixed.

This game is phenomenal. Broke down and got it for 360 instead of waiting for the PC like I was planning, and this is easily the best action game released this generation. Do yourself a favor, if you like cappin' foos, then Max Payne 3 is gonna be mana for your soul. In just about every way imaginable, Max Payne 3 is exactly the kinds of games you look for near the end of a generation once development for that gen has matured. If you crave action even in the slightest, then MP3 is not to be missed. I'm really surprised that Gamersyde has not written an official review for this one. But I guess with them prepping to be at E3 in a couple of weeks, there is precious little time for them to dedicate to reviews at the moment.

getting this from love film tomorrow, looking forward to playing it even if havnt loved what i've seen of it so far. i dont get why the game has scan-lines all over the place tho, not fond of that effect at all. kane and lynch did the whole digi effect way better, even if it was a shite game. oh well, not like i've lost anything if it's shit.

I've already made the movie DRIVE comparison when it came to the score, but it also works for the game on a whole. Dan Houser knows how to write, the story isn't that deep but the characters, the direction is so nuanced and detailed . It's the kind of thing that you'll either really love and appreciate or not.

There does seem to be a bit of a 'love or hate it' kind of vibe about this game. A lot of people have said the gameplay isn't very good but the story/narrative is great, while others have said exactly the opposite. Some have said one of the greatest action games in years, others are massively disappointed with it.

I guess I'll find out in a few days where I fall on the spectrum but, when something is a selective taste, more often than not I end up loving it.

ended up going through the whole game despite wanting to save the ending for when I buy the PC version, and I have to say I have mixed feelings. one side of me was really into this game, and felt that this game was a ton of fun, but the other side of me has me feeling like rockstar didn't care to stick closely to the original style of the game. this game didn't feel like a max payne game, especially near the end. that disappointed me, but i feel like this game is good on its own and definitely should be checked out. I still plan on buying it for PC, as it was good fun. shame though the direction they took with the cut scenes, felt too much like GTA IV but with a filter.

I'm also torn on this game. I'm reaching the end, and when the game is good it is phenomenal. The cutscenes really are annoying though. Also, the cover mechanic does become a necessary evil toward the end, and especially on higher difficulty.

Typically on games like this, I enjoy them much more with the difficulty cranked up, and using only free aim (all the aim assists turned off). This made GTA IV infinitely more enjoyable for me. I quickly found that doing this in MP3 makes the game nearly unplayable due to the difficulty. I like hard games, but it's like the game was designed to be played with all the assists on easy difficulty, and everything was cranked WAY up from there. Unfortunately, the only way for me to avoid controller breaking frustration was to play it on medium with a few of the assists on.

Christ, the person playing in some of these videos is freaking HORRIBLE. Seems like they have it on easy with free-aim on. Because especially in the stadium level, just walking towards enemies while looking down the sights would get you killed instantly on medium or hard mode.

Yeah well the "person" was actually playing in medium mode with free aim, mind you. But I mean, you should definitely open your own website, capture your own videos quick enough to make sure some people can complain about your style of play. Maybe then you could show us how great a player you are and you can actually start bragging. :)

Or you could choose to be grateful and undertanding because we are actually taking the time to capture so many videos so they can be released on time, which also means sometimes we don't have that much time to practise, let alone, retry until the seuqences we show are played fantastically well. Now I should also remind that none of us is getting paid for what we are doing for you guys so don't bother telling me it's our job.

yes id like to add too that this is my favorite website to go to for video game news. i got a new computer recently and lost all my gaming website bookmarks and haven't had the time to really add anymore, but this one was definitely the first and pretty much only one i saved. very simple layout with great news. u guys do a good job.
