But that doesn't mean much though, if Bizarre/Activision don't want to make the game they just won't, which would be a shame.
Regardless, it really doesn't look good at all.

Official Xbox 360 Mag Review scores:
Halo 3: 9/10
PGR4: 10/10
:D
No link for you, it was posted in the BC forums and confirmed by Ben from BC.

This is the last PGR since they will work on 2 new IPs...:( Even though MS probably owns the IP, it still doesn't mean much if the guys behind it won't make it.

New doesn't necessarily mean new IP. I still have hope for a new PGR.

I just hope they DO continue the series, because while there's merit in having the same developer do the game over and over, once you have a great base for it and a previous title to live up to and expand on, they just need to put it in capable hands.
I'm not devastated as long as it comes out and is a good game, I will be though if it goes the Rallisport way and just... fucking.. disappears entirely. *Still upset about no RSC3*
Then again, Bizarre is working on a new racer. So what if it's multiplatform as long as it's great. I just kinda doubt they'll be able to quite find that frequency of cool that PGR hit, without making a carbon copy with a new name. Which they've arguably already did with PGR1. :)

Damn, "losing" their best racing franchise is not the best way to go, Microsoft. Couple that with no Crackdown 2 in development and you could think something's wrong with Microsoft...

It's not good for MS anyway, because PGR (+online) was one of the main reasons I bought a Xbox and Xbox 360.. If that's gone or I can play the game on Playstation aswell together with games like GT etc I might be seriously looking at PS4 as my next console instead of the next Xbox.. But we're not there yet, like I said, lets just wait and see what happens.. PGR4 still has to come out first aswell..

Then again, you'd think not making RSC3 is similarly insane. It's all about money though, and I'm not convinced either PGR or RSC were ever big incomes for MS. I seem to recall Bizarre being disappointed with how PGR3 did, and that was even a launch title.. so I guess you never know.
I didn't buy Halo3 this week, I bought Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts for PC.. A brilliant game the average Halo fan probably never even heard of, and that will probably sell less then 5% of what Halo3 will sell.. But aslong as there are developers and publishers willing to make those less profitable games, I'm happy.. It's still not all about the money thankfully..

So, Activision has reunited the Sex Pistols and purchased Bizarre Creations. What's next?

I wasn't expecting Crackdown 2 in 2008 or anything, but this really brings up the question.............what does MS have for 2008? Especially in terms of 1st party? Halo Wars and Banjo?

Banjo-Threeie
Fable 2
Marvel Universe Online
Ninja Gaiden 2
Lost Odyssey
Infinite Undiscovery
Halo Wars
Too Human
Cryon
Shane Kim hinted at Gears 2 yesterday and I think you can expect to see something else from Rare other than BK, we'll probably see some 'casual' rip-offs of Singstar/yearly update of Scene It and more XBLA games as well as the Japanese crap no-one else cares to publish (Tenchu Z, Sylpheed), but they aren't really worth counting (on any platform)
On topic MS has responded RE: future PGRs
http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=1757...
"[UPDATE 2] GameDaily BIZ contacted Microsoft and a spokesperson said, "Bizarre Creations has been an great partner for Microsoft Game Studios and we wish them nothing but the best in the future. Project Gotham Racing is a signature racing franchise for Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE and we plan to continue the series but we have nothing further to announce."
Maybe they'll form their own studio to continue it.
BTW it seems BC are quite fond of jumping on multiplatform development.

2. Oh gross... MS is gonna continue PGR with ANOTHER developers YUCK! Just let it die MS, let it die... "I" was right that MS owned the PGR IP (grape vine info). I think the series is a little extended and it just doesn't have the profile of a NFS or Burnout series. What, is MS going to let Turn10 make a PGR game... again, oh YUCK!
3. MS should have given BC the Bungie treatment. Didn't I just say the PGR games were good but not great sellers? Technologically no one is showing off the 360 like BC has, and their games are good. MS needs a studio to justify their platforms, and they also need a "Top of Class" racer for the mainstream. MS has Bungie and then... nothing better than BC. Lionhead is a good studio, but inconsistant. Ensemble is a good RTS maker, just not great. And RTS is still a smallish genre on the consoles. Turn10 is slow and while having a nice vision has issues executing. And Rare... ok, so BC would have been the 2nd best MS internal studio.
BC is actually quite tech savvy, has some really great tools, and can make consistantly good games. Leveraging such into the Xbox 3 and allowing them to work on some new IPs could have been a big win for MS. The idea of BC making a HUGE photorealistic city on the Xbox3 that is some sort of shooter or GTA game... drool!!!
4. Sigh... another good dev eaten alive by a large 3rd party pub. I guess Activision could use some racer action to go up against NFS.
Crappy news IMO. Essentially, MS gave BC the "NO" and BC had to find a publisher solution. I do wonder, as Moore was quite a BC fan, if he was around if things would have been different?
Any way you cut it: MS better figure out their internal studio issues... fast.
Bannable Insults: "Get new glasses" "Open your eyes" etc. Insinuating an insult and flaming are no-nos. If you feel like being a "true fan" then go be a true fan on the companies fan forums. Boulets are for off topic/inappropriate/bickering posts. Ignore
Seriously, WHO is gonna make a PGR game good enough to follow PGR4???

Maybe Bizarre people themselves wanted to join Activision, because they saw better future going that way. they seem quite fond of going multiplatform, and judging on some early comments on their forum their next racing game will not be MSR/PGR style. Seeing as NFS sells 5M-8M copies every year, they might pursuit that market.
As for PGR - I think Microsoft will either grow Turn 10 or they will outsource it to an independent studio - Eden Games would be the best bet IMO - they are creators of Test Drive Unlimited and Need for Speed Porsche.
