GS: Redemption isn't a typical Western when you look at how late it takes place in the genre's historical window. Why the decision to set the game in the years leading up to World War I rather than the peak of the Wild West?

TC: What appealed to us about that specific place and time was the opportunities it presented to explore things in video games that had never been attempted before. By the early years of the 20th century, the frontier was already conquered, and there was a great deal of social upheaval. The cowboys, gunslingers, and stagecoaches of the mid-1800s were literally disappearing with each passing day.
At the same time, tremendous advances were being made in technological endeavors, from weapons to communication to transport and medicine. It was the perfect environment for the kind of open-world game we had in mind: it was rich in characters, socially complex, incredibly beautiful, and, of course, presented a really wide range of really interesting weapons, along with a civil war that is brewing in Mexico!

This is definitely a day one purchase! I would like to see a vidoc with some multiplayer though... (If it even has multiplayer I'm getting the 360 version, if it doesn't I'll get the ps3 version)

That last trailer was mind blowing stuff,I really like the shooting and as I predicted the repeater handles like a Kar98 in COD one hit kills and headshots

There is multiplayer, they just haven't talked about specifics yet. Hopefully bank/coach/train robberies with teams on attack and defence!

they both look like someone whacked a "cutout" filter on an image in photoshop, but i too prefer the old one. the layout and pose just dont look all that well considered in the new one. plus a cowboy without his hat is just a greasy hobo looking mo-fo...ha

Every new video this game looks so awesome. Can't wait to go hunt some animals...

Hopefully they will give for free those suits (the two that lost) from that contest at Gamestop, i really liked the hunter one :)

I asked and they said it's just linked to an in game clock, not a real time clock (system) which is too bad.
