"Everything you see in the trailer is straight from the in-game engine, no up-ressed textures, geometry or effects. What you see is what you will get. Except hopefully a little bit better since we’re not even in alpha yet. This is however a big milestone for us, and we are going to be concentrating more on the gameplay side of things next."





So guys what do you think of this? I think it´s very promising looking indie game.

Yea, it could be interesting. I love puzzle games, but I need to see some gameplay first. Tech does look cool, I really liked the rain effect.

Ok so that looks freaking amazing, but i don't even want to imagine what kind of goddamn scentient, time traveling supercomputer you need to run that :P What are the minimum specs? 20 gigs of ram, 50 I7 processors working in tandem with a couple of industry standard workstation cards and a terrabyte for the install?

Yeah that could be the issue, i remember i heard somewhere that they worked for Futuremark so maybe they have some wizardry shit on their sleeves. We´ll need to wait and see.

“But we need at least a budget of a gazillion bucks and ten truckloads of devs to pull this off, we don’t have that kind of money.”

Ok i got answer. They are using basic i7 rigs, nothing special. They can´t say about specifics at this point.

Skepticism mode.....ON. Seriously, I'm having a tough time this is running on a "basic" rig. 2 guys? have they been building that vid for 2 years while coding the most amazing engine made? I didn't see any real-time compromises there, and the RAM requirements needed for those textures? I'll eat my shorts if it's real. If it is... cool...

Ok cool. Tho i was not talking about it. Lets not get stuck on the fact that it has a same word in its title :)

The console port comment was meant to explain why a PC game can look that good. You know a DX11 game can look this good.

I will ask them, i read Eurogamer did interview them so that´s a good story to come.

BTW did John Carmack make his own game engine? you know 1 guy made amazing looking game for that age.

That's a VERY unfair comparison though. Even if tech1 was cutting edge at the time, you neded a lot less resources to make that as compared to a modern day full blown 3d engine. It's not comparable at all. In the same way that you could make an entire c64 game in a weekend wih 2 guys, that model isn't appliccable on even a small indie game today. Games are so much more advanced and complex now that it just takes a boatload of extra resources.

True it´s not the same thing. Ok lets say for now it´s impossible for 1 person to do this quality graphics.

So when you guys think 1 person can make his own game engine that has this kind of CGI DX11 graphics ? 2050 ?

Lets assume they made this engine in 2 days.

Remember that PC game that looked incredible when first announced? It was made by a very small team. The title was single word, I can't remember the name. Videos where mostly first person with some dude holding a bow. Anyways, I get that feeling from this game, probably going to take forever to be something, or be cancelled.

Yeah that is the possibility with every game. I hope i get my hands on the game at some point before release maybe beta. It would be sad if they can make the engine but fail to make the gameplay part to work.
