I don't know what to say seriously...Star Wars into SC universe...somehow it doesn't fit...but at the same time...its cool to use the lightsaber.

Knwing these guys know how to make good weapon actions, I think doing so with a lightsaber would be good.

However wouldnt it be a bit cheap to use the force all the time :S

Its like in DOA4, choosing Ryu for his multiple teleporting move and kicking ass.

I don't know...but i was shocked to see this though :P

Wow some people take gaming far too seriously, You don't have to use these charcters guys and they won't be in the main story mode, so you will never have to fight against them either.

Sath I doubt you will get to use "the force", Namco have been quite good at balancing moves in the past with SC, I doubt its guna change now.

Couldn't agree more. If there was ever a fighting game where it made sense to put in light sabre wielding characters it's this series. I'm glad Namco still have their sense of humour. Remember the joke weapons from Soul Calibur 2? I hope they include those. They could give Vader the Schwarz :)

Everyone knows being a Sith or a Jedi is all about the force. Namco removing that then what's the point of having any Star Wats characters in the game.

Unless the force is combined with combo attacks but not at will.

Wouldn't bother me, Go play FF12 its basically Star Wars anyway.

Sath this game is about weapon skills not magic skills, so I don't expect to see any force from either of them.

If they do use they force then I'm guna be quite disappointed, as it will make both characters unblanced.

I suppose the odd force move as a substitue throw move or something would be ok.

I'm honestly speechless regarding this ... so in order to make their game sell, they threw star wars characters in ??? What a lame tactic, just as lame as the Halo Character in DOA4 which DIDNT WORK! .... what's even more sad is that people are falling for it ...... Soul Calibur is one of the best fighting games around, they didnt have to do this to it to make it sell ..... I'm honestly disgusted.

You can hate me all you want but this screams CHEAP!

i agree. i was kinda hoping for some character taken from well knows franchises for each console. so kratos in ps3 version (stylistically would fit and has a new weapoin set with the blades of chaos) i mean, im sure a lot of people think vader is cool, i know i do. but in soul calibur...WTH??? also, his weapon brings nothing new to the game. as cool as a light saber is, its essentially a sword and there are enough people with swords in the SC games as it is. i dunno. they could have added far better characters imo. at least characters with a similar aethetic.

Pretty amusing, coming from someone who flips out at every FPS release. Oh no! Gaming as we know it is dying! People don't like it, so what? No one is losing sleep over Soul Calibur just because they're voicing their opinion.

Thats completely different, whining at 1 extra charcter and a whole genre is something quite different.

Like I said you don't have to play this charcter, much like I don't have to play FPS.

Adding an optional charcter doesn't really effect the game that much, and it doesn't cheapen it either, it just gives it more mass appeal, which is obviously what Namco want.

Yup and that's what's CHEAP in my opinion .... I mean whaty's next .... Master Chief in Lost Odyssey ??!?!?! seriously, some developers are really crossing the line IMO.

By fo4ce I didn't mean like The Force Unleashed type of force.

For example you make combos and it includes some force power like force push or force choke...etc. but it won't do that much of a damage, so they balance it out with the force being included but not enough to being superior.

You say no magic spell?

Well I have seen videos of SC were they keep getting lightning power on the swords and slashes the shit out of the enemy...that right there is some freaky magic shit...same thing goes to the force powers...if being used of course, but in a very Star wars-ish way.
