2006 sucked until GoW came =/
2006 did suck.. most other years I would have made a comment about how much better it would have been if you didn't limit yourself to one platform; but generally speaking it was a pretty slow year all around.. at least in the genres I prefer.

Nope i think the shear number of quality releases makes this the best year ever for gaming, for me anyway.
Okay.. cool. Glad that's settled then, best year ever.

Its definitely best game year ever on a single platform. The game lineup for the 360 this year is immense. So many incredible games of so many different styles.

I think 2006 was great, we got Graw, Saints Row, Dead Rising, Fight Night, Rainbow Six : Las Vegas and Splinter Cell Double Agent and of course Gears. This year has been a slow one imo. Crackdown, Flatout, The Darkness. The good games are yet to come though. Just saying that 2006 was very good gaming year for me atleast.

Yup 2008 is no 2007, but when you have titles such as Halo 3 or Mass Effect it's hard to outclass that I guess. ;)

Still pretty subjective.. lots of other platforms have had amazing years too. Best year ever for a single Microsoft platform? Surely.. but still, this all exists in the mind of the individual gamer. That's an overwhelmingly broad statement no matter how you slice it.

Also -- it's impossible to get the most out of 2007 (or any year) if you're playing on one platform.

Uh, no. I don't have to. I love how there are PC games from 2005 on your best year ever list though! Good stuff!

lol.. all of the games under my list came from a gaming site, i must admit i just breezed over it, but still i challenge anyone to find me a year on one console with so many high caliber AAA titles!!!

Oh and i'm not saying anything about sticking to one platform as i have always had most consoles and will continue to do so.
