New Trailer
I don't know, I'm not all that impressed with the game so far, but I just want to see some proper footage and a proper preview so I can make up my mind about this game. Not some foreign crappy video previews.
I'm really shy for a game atm and if this is atleast a decent RPG, I might get it.
Then again, if this game won't release untill June or even later, than it's off my radar anyways (Mass Effect, The Darkness, CM Dirt etc).
Ho well...

"The console version of "Two Worlds" will unfortunately not be in the stores with the PC version on the 9th of May. As yet, no new release date has been announced. Unfortunately, the reasons for this delay cannot at this time be given by the publishers.
Internal development of the console version ran like clockwork and final product quality itself leaves nothing to be desired, a fact vouched for in an article in the current issue (5/07) of the German print magazine "360 LIVE" - "A fantastic RP experience, full of life and ideas... who would ever have thought that Oblivion could be dethroned so fast? This "Two Worlds" is indeed a worthy successor!! ...Rating: 9.3 out of 10" Let's hope that all you Consoleros out there will soon be able to join the PC gamers in their enjoyment of the "Two Worlds" - RPG entertainment at its best."

as for the smaller issues. length for one. i completed the story plus a good 80% of the quests and it took 20hours. this is definately not of oblivion scale epicness where it can take you 100 hours just to do half the sidequests.
the good things however greatly outweighed the bad for me. from the large VARIED world. snow capped mountains, desert towns, red sky lava lands. etc. its a very varied place. more so then oblivions endless fields and forests. although two worlds has plently of that too
also the progression system is good, basically as you move down the map, the enemies het harder. no scaling difficulty like oblivion. so you can get good in the upper areas...and completely destroy them...then move down to more difficult enemies when you chose to.
the way the RPG mechanics work is also very well done. again. while this is quite a bit different to oblivion but its hard not to compare them. oblivion had a strange way of tacking enchanted items. where you had to effectively recharge it every so often. in two worlds you enchant it and it'll be enchanted for ever. also everything from spells, to ingrediants to weapons and armour are stackable. so you can technically upgrade your weapon and your level of enchantment as you progress. i ended up with a katana that had practically a 2000-3000 damage with an extra 2000 spirit damage. all becasue of stacking. it bested even the higher level weapons i found on defeated enemies.
while i didnt delve particualrly deep into alchamy and magic (i was a warrior) i did check it out and it seems simple and fun...you can knock out a decent potion, permenent or not pretty easy and magic is also pretty cool, again with stackable effects and spells. you can even push it to a point where you can give a single spell so many "mana saver" cards that your not even using any mana when you cast it.
items are also a LOT better then oblivion. where oblivion had maybe 15 armour sets, two worlds has hundreds, some are purely colour variations...but most completely different styles and stats. you really feel a sense of acomplishment when you finally get enough dexterity or strength to wear some uber armour or weild some ultra powerfull double handed sword.
a LOT of people wont be able to get past that initial few hours. admittedly it doesnt give a very good first impression, your thrown into a world with practically no direction, full of enemies that can kill you instantly if you wonder too far south. while enduring constant loading and framerate issues and crap acting. but if you push through those first 2-3 hours you may find a game that rivals even the mightly oblivion. for me it surpassed it in terms of story, quest variety, world variety and general gameplay mechanics. but lost out in terms of visuals, performance and voice acting.
at least give it a rental. even if its just to laught at how bad the voice acting truely is.

I'm somewhat interested in renting it, after reading your writeup Korndog.. but I'm still a little hesitant. It looks really bad (animation, voices, combat) in the vids I've watched, but there could be a certain charm that doesn't translate over the internet. We'll see what happens.. there's a lot on my plate right now.
