This sudden graphical change leaves me confused and angered.

The main difference seems to be the aliasing, which may well simply be the way these shots were taken (from the 3d screen)

Otherwise it looks just as good.

Doh! I didn't realize that orange glow was from his muzzle flash till I saw the 3D screenshot. That thing kicks ass! They should release these for every game.

Sounds like it, yes.

Those quicktime 3D turn arounds are pretty slick, they should release some more.

The video capture obviously isn't really in game, and I honestly doubt its real time.

First clue: ridiculously high AA.
Second clue: How comfortably his straps fit.

Otherwise, the game is looking pretty good, and is early in developement.

The 3d screen is lit by a muzzle flash which is bound to create some over-exposition that doesn't really do the textures and lighting justice. I don't think it's that far off to be honest.

That's nice..my eyes tell me otherwise. Pre-rendered using in game assets, perhaps? Unless they ran a real time demo, after seeing a real screenshot, I doubt that that's real time.

Not that the 3D screenshot looks anywhere near bad, if that's what you're implying. Aside from the loads of AA it's missing, it still looks pretty nice. The character model is very nice, nice detail.

What the hell is the point here anyway--what are we trying to decide again?

Well maybe it's like Heavenly Sword .I mean at e3 there was diference between gameplay video and official screenshots

The floor much better in gameplay video. There is also diffirence in Noroko Face and in screenshots from е3 there is old bar. Imean screenshots was from early build and naughty dog can't realese screen's without sony's permission same with heavenly sword.

I think the difference there just comes down to the difference between a frame buffer grab and an off-screen photograph. Things always seem to look better photographed off of nice sets.

The Uncharted trailer definitly seems to be pre-rendered, with the level of AA they're achieving, compared to the new screenshot. I wouldn't worry much about that though--perhaps the game will have some jaggies--but it still looks pretty nice and has a lot of developement time left.

Naughty Dog may have claimed that trailer was generated in real time using their engine--and perhaps it was--just not on a PS3 with that level of anti-aliasing :P

The entire trailer was rendered in real-time using our PS3 game engine. All of the models, textures, shaders and effects are in-game.

If it weren't so damn smooth, I'd believe it. Unless the dev kits they were working on way back then were like, more capable of running anti-aliasing :P Not sure what the point is in arguing about it though, I'm sure the point has something to do with a potential downgrade, but who cares. It's actually pretty interesting that there is some slight aliasing and some shadow artifacts in the grabs from the original trailer--you wouldn't likely see that in a pre-rendered video--but perhaps that's why they're there ;)

The game is still a long time way from it's release so the graphics will improve, maybe less maybe better...Like Grift said no point in arguing about it right now.

If the game still looks like this when released, there will be a point to argue about it.

Either way, I'm sure it will look great when it is released. The Jack and Daxter games looked good on the PS2, and Crash Bandicoot looked good for its time on the PS. No worries from me in the graphics department
