I was convinced of this much sooner, but after the time they wasted on that complete clown they sat next to the guy in charge of the SpikeTV Video Game Awards, I had to come and make this post.

Even Naughty Dog's newly announced title did almost nothing for me, even though I'm quite sure it'll be a fantastic game. You just didn't see nearly enough to really get properly excited about. It can still be just about anything, really.

It's funny that the most exciting thing at this show thus far, has been an Xbox Live game, the brand new Alan Wake, which really looks kinda kick ass.

I'm just hoping for some sort of surprise trailer or glimpse of Halo 4 or something to rescue this show, because it desperately needs it. I mean, wow. This thing has been horrible. Just horrible.

Gamers are impossible to please. Compared to the last ones, this one was poetry. Kept the celebrity dialogue to a minimum, had the Black Keys as musical guest, and had Deadmau5 as DJ. What on Earth people? What. On. Earth.

I liked the show, it needs less celebs. banter and more game stuff. Make it an hour long and cut all the filler = win

The previous ones were much better, I feel. I agree with the awards handed out and such, but for game footage and reveals, that's really the best they could do? You could have gone to gametrailers, IGN, this site or gamespot, and got the exact same or far superior experience without the show having ever taken place at all.

With regards to the musical guests, it's almost as if they didn't exist to me, because I don't know who any of them are haha. Only person I knew was Will I am, LL Cool J, and maybe a few others I'm forgetting, but that's not the point. I'm trying to glance past all the celebs and tired performances in order to see if I can spot some more game footage. Charlie Sheen, in light of his downward spiral, was very appropriately placed. Gotta give them kudos for that. If there was anywhere you should go to try and get yourself some tv time simply because it was there, it would have to be this show.

I mean, they tried so hard to make it appear that they were serious about the games this time around, but it was a joke from beginning to end. It was like I was watching the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards or something. What in god's name are they doing playing with cupcakes on an assembly line and having full grown adults jumping off, I think trampolines, to get themselves stuck on some ridiculous spongy wall, or whatever the heck you call those things lol, I forget. Where is Jack Black when you need him!? Only he could pull off that type of crap, and actually make you feel like you didn't just finish wasting some time. Or maybe even a Will Ferrell or something.

I mean, the ridiculousness of bringing that one idiot on the show, who only made a complete ass of himself on live television is beyond comprehension. His "piledriver" line was total brain malfunction, while simultaneously refusing to shake the hand of the guy that pretty much put him on the show. It just looked tacky as all hell. You were almost begging them to cut away from this disaster or go to commercial before everybody involved embarrassed themselves any further. There was the very stupid looking teabagging, which got old after the first one (and they expect to be taken seriously?)

Kojima's massacre of practically every word he was meant to speak on stage, while funny and sorta understandable given the fact that it isn't his first language, I think just sums up the entire show. It was an epic mess. They clearly all planned for something, but then it came time to execute, and then they realized there was nothing there right in the middle of a live broadcast. Snoop Dogg alone doing a stupid skit would have improved this show ten fold. That's how bad it was. Perhaps they'll bring the show back next year with a "REVENGEANCE." Oh god...

Oh my God, no. Optimus is broken people.

Let's just list a few things I know for a fact people bitch about:

Academy Awards/Oscars (LONG ASS BORING)
Emmy's (TV IS FOR SHITS)
Grammy's (Shit music won OMG!)
Kids' Choice Awards (BEAT ALL THE DUMB ASS KIDS)
E3 (WATCHING MR. CAFFEINE CAUSES AIDS)

Maybe we should just accept that live performances don't work, in any medium. They're basically for celebrities and studios to cross promote their stuff and networks to sell ad time. Any enjoyment you have along the way may be purely coincidental. That said this was the most enjoyable VGA yet, and one I'm not embarrassed to say I watched.

Now, as for some of the votes?

Portal 2 - Best Multiplayer?
Bethesda - Studio of the Year?
