Yeah, i think the wii-u will do fine. I doesn't appeal to hard core gamers, but it's not supposed to. Will it do as well as the original Wii did? Probably not, but it'll hardly bankrupt them either. A lot of people are saying "granny allready ahs a wii, she won't buy another!" but i think that's exactly what's going to hapen. Granny doesn't want a 360 and CoD, but she might give Pikmin 3, Nwe SMB U, Nintendo Land and Wii Fit U a shot.

But we'll see what happens, i suppose. I Don't think it'll be a good console for us people on here, but i think people in general might see it differently.

But their conference THIS year tells a very different story. I'm not denyig that Nintendo had a bloody awful E3, but i don't think Johnny Jock or Bejewled Mom even knows that E3 exists, and when tey see a tablet thingy from them peoples that made that there Wii Sports game that was so fun to play, they might get it...don't you think?

When the Wiimote was unveiled, everyone knew. When Wii Fit was announced, everyone knew. When the 3DS was unveiled, everyone knew. They care about E3 when it interests them. The point is, that now those markets are tapped. The casuals tried video games, and they moved on.

Those same people realized that they'd much rather spend 99 cents on their phone for a distraction than buy $50 games and hardware. They're fickle. They move onto the hottest thing.

Hardcore gamers are what built Nintendo, and the PS3 and 360 are thriving now because of that.

They aren't losing much even if this console flops, that's the beauty of making a product at cost, lets not forget Nintendo has money coming out of it ears.

We all know the launch titles are never a good example of what a system is capable of also, what with the fact Nintendo has no experience with HD gaming and the fact they have had to rush to get a couple games out.

I'm still willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, Pikimin and NSMB both look great.

To be honest, if I weren't a hardcore gamer, even I, too, wouldn't know exactly what the heck it was. Because they shoddily revealed the controller first without showing it in concert with the new box itself, a lot of people are looking at this thing like some really expensive add-on to the Wii. You may have a lot of confused people not even viewing the Wii as a new console release, and are instead looking at it the same way they view an add-on, like Kinect.

Still, I'm also willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, as it's true that you can't judge a platform based on its launch. Literally very few thought games would start looking as good as they did when they saw what 360/ps3 launch titles looked like out of the gate. I mean, some expected much better, but I don't know if people expected as big a jump as what we've seen.

Did any of you get a chance to see THIS yet? Just ONE thing, IF the document is real it's already more than TWO YEARS OLD and it's very likely that alot of things about it have been changed by now. But there are some things that are very very interesting.

-ARM Processor (sounds exciting, but would also rule out a cheap console. They wouldn't be able to sell it for $299, at least not without taking a considerable loss at launch)
-Xbox 360 CPU will be in the hardware profile (that means FULL backward compatibility from day one)
-Some type of Kinect based "Augmented Reality" glasses that go completely mobile in 2015 (your guess is as good as mine. could be MS' mobile gaming platform?)
-True 1080p and 3D (this means NO LESS than 4GBs of memory, and considering how cheap fast memory is now, there should be at least 8GBs but don't hold me to it)

-Mass Flash Storage (this points to what the games are going to be played on. What we know about current/affordable flash based SSD storage would provide 32GBs. A considerable improvement over 360 discs)
(Speed, memory for textures, and the improvements in scalability that would provide even more storage and lower costs in the future)

It LOOKS official, but again it's still two years old.

It's real, but old. Pretty much 95% of the stuff in there is all legit with current MS plans, and will be happening (or at least Microsoft will be trying to make happen), except the system has more memory than that, and the processor is different from the one listed, and they have a new codename.

Could be almost anything. Some think Xbox tablet. Others say just basic windows 8 related stuff. Other people, the ones who have absolutely no idea what they're talking about, say it's a strategic partnership with valve for the next xbox, that brings Half Life 3 to the next xbox as an exclusive, and you'll be able to stream it from your Xbox to your pc :)
