Since we received Atomic Heart at the and of last week, it was a bit too short to be able to complete the game. After playing it for a few hours, we must say we haven't been disappointed so far. Munfish's title is clelarly reminiscent of BioShock Infinite, PREY and even Control, but it still manages to have a strong personality thanks to its art style and its game world. It's also very impressive visually, especially considering it's the studio's first project and it is not a triple-A title at all. As we could try the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, we spotted a few differences in terms of performance. It might be a bug and we definitely saw frame drops in some specific instances when playing the Series X version on Saturday. It happened during the introduction in the elevator and can be seen in our Xbox gameplay video (as a comparison check out the French Gamersyde Offline video on PS5). Oddly, it didn't happen on Sony's console despite the fact that we played the full introduction twice. Cutscenes aren't as steady as gameplay sequences, but it's not really an issue. We're also wondering of image quality isn't a tad softer on Series X, but contrary to the difference in performance, we're not quite sure on this one. Anyway, whatever the console you'll be playing on, the game looks gorgeous.
