Even when keeping in mind that the Switch cannot be compared to current gen consoles, the Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition port to Nintendo's console is pretty disappointing. In docked mode, it's hard not to see the differences in terms of image quality: textures are much lower res, reflections and shadows aren't as polished and there seems to be a constant judder when moving the camera around, which makes the game less smooth than it should at 30 fps. Also note that there are occasional frame drops during combat. Portable mode looks crisper, even more so if you own the OLED version of the console, but framerate doesn't feel that smooth either. We haven't seen the game on Steam Deck but it's most certainly the better version for those willing to play this on a handheld device. It's a bit of a shame as the other versions we've seen look really good overall.
