After spending a bit of time in early access, City of Brass is now available and it offers a first person roguelike experience in a colorful Arabian Nights setting. With many enemies to defeat with your whip and sword and traps to avoid (or use against your foes), you'll need a bit of time to beat the 12 procedurally-generated levels before the time is up. Gameplay modifiers allow to make the game easier or harder depending on what you're looking for, but you'll have to unlock them first. One of them makes it possible to deactivate the time limit to complete the level, which can be convenient to train and get better. The game is pretty nice, though not as fluid as we'd hope in terms of gameplay when played with a gamepad. The concept is obviously a bit repetitive, but the sword and whip combat is fun despite a few hit detection issues.
