Draugen has probably not gotten as much attention as Layers of Fear 2, even though we did cover the game a bunch of times on Gamersyde. You play the role of Edward Charles Harden, who arrives in a Norwegian village with his ward Lissie hoping to find his missing sister. As you can imagine, things are not going to go as planned as the village seems to have been completely deserted. You'll have to uncover the mystery around what happened in this story driven game, a bit reminiscent of Firewatch in that it involves 2 characters teaming up and talking to each other a lot. Being more a walking simulator than an adventure game per se, the pace is pretty slow, with limited gameplay mechanics but the atmosphere and voice acting makes the story very engaging. Sadly, its short length (3 hours max), the expected twist and the unsatisfying ending we got (we don't know if there is more than one) made us quite disappointed by the time we completed the game. Clearly, the 2 endearing characters and the mysterious town of Graavick deserved a bit more screen time as the writing is definitely praiseworthy.
