We already had PC videos of ELEX, it is now the Xbox One version to appear on Gamersyde with these 3 videos.
Contrary to what the thumbnail might lead you to think, we are not going to tell you about some mysterious DLC for Mass Effect: Andromeda. No, today, we are showing you ELEX, Piranha Bytes' new RPG mixing science-fiction and fantasy elements. After Risen 2 and 3, the German studio decided to leave the world of pirates behind, but rest assured there is still some magic involved here. As usual with AA games, the technical aspect is not on par with the big studios can do, but it's still nice to see how detailed the game world is. True, the main character lacks charisma, voice acting is not very good and animations are way too stiff, but that was also true in the Risen series and there was fun to be found in those games. The main problem we have had is that the review code was poorly optimized, with frame drops and stutter that were pretty annoying when we were trying to capture the videos. Lowering the fog setting to high seems to fix the problem apparently.
Note: Once again, we could count on gog.com for the code.

Science fantasy RPG ELEX from Piranha Bytes and THQ Nordic gets new screenshots and a new trailer that recounts the events preceding the game's story. The title is set to release this year.
Piranha Bytes, the creators of the Risen series, have updated the official site of ELEX, the studio's upcoming post-apocalyptic, science-fantasy action-RPG. The title refers to a precious limited resource that came with a meteor that struck Magalan, the planet the game is taking place on. This resource can "power machines, open the door to magic, or re-sculpt life into new, different forms". It's coming in 2017 for PC and consoles.
