Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree was released just over a week ago, and professional reviews have been very positive about the game. Primal Game Studio's title is a Metroidvania at heart, but it also borrows some Souls-like mechanics, such as stamina management, ruthless opponents and bosses, and the loss of XP at each death, unless you recover it by returning to the crime scene without dying. There's also a skill tree that lets you shape your character as you wish, or continue along the path of the class you chose at the start. The game looks greats, gameplay is nothing new but it works well, so from what we've seen, it seems to be a good pick for fans of the genre.
