The surprisingly good Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has just received a new update adding a ray tracing mode on Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. We recorded a bunch of gameplay clips on Xbox Series X so you can see it for yourself. As far as we can tell, image quality is not as sharp as in the quality mode, most certainly due to the lower resolution, but framerate seems to be steady (at 30 fps though).

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch (via cloud) and PC. Here is our video captured in 4K on PC with DLSS Balanced enabled as well as Ray Tracing.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has not left a marking impressions after its video debut, but considering the failure that Marvel's Avengers has been, it is no wonder. That being said, since this game won't be sold as a GaaS and since it will propose a single-player experience (however surprising it might seem with such a cast of characters), we are willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Plus, the soundtrack should at least be phenomenal. Until we can find out what the game is worth, here are all the recent videos released, in excellent quality this time.

During the SQUARE ENIX PRESENTS digital-showcase event, Eidos-Montréal and SQUARE ENIX today unveiled Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, a third-person narrative action-adventure game. Developed by Eidos-Montréal in collaboration with Marvel Entertainment, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will release simultaneously on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles on October 26, 2021.
