If you're wondering why we're talking about NODE, a game originally released in August 2025, it's because it recently received a free update that now lets you play it as a cinematic platformer. Originally, the game's premise involved selecting a list of commands to move a little robot and make it interact correctly with its environment. The game thus approached the puzzle aspect a bit differently, and the reception on Steam was generally positive. Adding a “platformer” mode was a good idea, especially since the game has a great atmosphere and equally impressive lighting effects and visuals, but since the robot can move across two planes and visibility is far from satisfactory, you end up struggling with the controls too often for it to feel enjoyable and natural.
