The original Trumbull Valley map is coming to State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition. Available September 1st in the Homecoming update.

E3 is coming and I had to try encoding videos in 4K and HDR, so here is one from the introduction of State of Decay 2 on Xbox One X.

The PC version of State of Decay 2 is smoother than the Xbox One X version, as long as you don't try to play the game in 4K (even our GTX 1080 Ti cannot hold a steady framerate with ultra settings). The problem is that the game's resolution cannot be modified when playing in full screen, which means we have to change our desktop resolution every time we want to play the game on our 4K TV. We've seen a few drops in 1440p but our experience was smooth overall in 1080p. Image quality takes a bit of a hit in this resolution though, especially if you're playing on a 4K TV. Let's hope the developers will realize this isn't really acceptable, as other Windows Store game do propose the option to change the resolution (Sea of Thieves being one of them for example).

Despite the 6 GB patch we installed today, the State of Decay 2 captures we made during our lunch break confirm the unsteady framerate of the Xbox One X version of the game, one of the causes being that it is not locked at 30. Note that the game cannot hold a steady 60 fps framerate on PC when running in 4K with a GTX 1080 Ti, and that even in 1440p we have witnessed a few drops when on top of a tower (the draw distance might be to blame but we haven't had time to find out for sure yet). Inside, you'll find the introduction of the game recorded on Microsoft's console, but we'll be back with more content as soon as we can. Verdicts and reviews are under embargo until Thursday but since (for some unknown reasons) Miguel is the one who was sent the code last week and he didn't even realize it, we were only told yesterday. Don't expect us to be able to give you our opinion soon. If that makes you grumpy, we will provide the virtual tomatoes so you can get back at him and make him pay.

Microsoft unveiled State of Decay 2, the sequel to Undead Labs' multiplayer zombie survival game. The new entry will inrtoduce four-player coop among other new things. It's set to release in 2017 on Xbox One and Windows 10.
