It is never an easy thing to judge an adventure game in just a couple of hours of content, but what we've seen of Syberia: The world Before has left us pretty convinced that Benoît Sokal may have given us a posthumous gift worthy of the series' legend. There is obviously a huge responsibility for the studio in charge of the game's development as Kate Walker's iconic author could never see the end of the project as he sadly passed away in May 2021 but despite a disappointing third episode, fourth time could very well be the charm after all. From the two hours we have played, we have retained the pretty visuals, the more solid voice acting and the charming and melancolic atmosphere that suits the series so beautifully. Enon Zur has done a tremendous job with the OST once again, we like the fact that the plot seems to be taking its time to unfold, leaving us with the desire to learn more, and the different mechanics inspired from modern point and clicks just flow with the rest. It may still be a bit early to cry victory, but we want to believe in the game's potential to live up to its name.
