This afternoon, Gamersyde is going all retro 2D games, starting with The Final Station, which was released on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on August 30 - in North America at least. Despite the pixel art visuals that might not be engaging to some people, Do My Best Games' title is a surprisingly atmospheric and addictive experience, with some beautiful pixelated backgrounds on top of that. You play a train driver whose mission is to deliver a precious cargo which is supposed to help the army fight the strange virus that is turning people into shadowy monsters. The enemies in the game are quite reminiscent of Heart of Darkness, which is a good thing, as they are just as merciless and dark. The gameplay mechanics may be simple, but they work very well and it's hard to stop playing. The only minor problem we have with the game is that it's hard to read what the survivors you pick up are saying to each other when you're making sure the train is running properly.
