The Good, the Bad and the Augmented, the latest addon content for action-RPG The Surge is now available and takes players into new deadly challenge rooms.
While the sequel to Deck13's action-RPG is in development, The Surge is not done yet with more content. Focus Home Interactive released a teaser to announce The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented, a new DLC that will put players into the depths of the CREO facility where they will be tested by the deadly chambers of Dr. Rischboter which are Wild West-styled for unknown reasons so far. The content is planned for October 2.
Despite a few flaws, The Surge was one of the games to pleasantly surprise us this year, so we were pretty happy when Deck13 announced a DLC was going to be released in December. A Walk in the Park adds a new area to the original game, with new weapons to try out and new enemies to play with kill. The videos you will find inside were all captured in our New Game +, with a very powerful character that seemed to take the title of this new content for granted. Since we haven't completed the DLC, we can't tell you if it's that easy when playing with a fully upgraded character, but there's a chance it will be less challenging than for those willing to start a new game. It should be noted that A Walk in the Park does not take place after the events of the main game.
We already showed you The Surge on Ps4 Pro and on PC. To finish our work, here is the Xbox One version on Gamersyde with two videos.
A new trailer as Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 celebrate the good critics for the action-RPG The Surge which released earlier this week. It seems the game is, as of today, the one who offers the best support for PS4 Pro. If you enjoy the game, know that more content is on its way as the publisher and developer will share soon their post-launch plan for the game.
The Surge is now available to all, but if some of you are still wondering whether or not the game is worth a purchase, maybe the following videos will help PS4 Pro owners make a decision. Here are 5 FPS Analysis videos recorded in both graphics mode (Quality, which indeed runs at 30 fps, and Performance - 1080p/60fps). Note that the game requires a full restart every time you switch modes. That's why our previous Quality mode videos were not running at the proper framerate. We have modified the titles of the 2 videos posted in last Friday's news article so no one can be mistaken.
Yesterday evening we finally beat the fourth boss of The Surge (out of five), but we failed to record our victory as we forgot to start recording the one time we played well enough to win. As a result, we only have a short extract of that fight to share, along with two other videos showcasing new badass enemies who appear in a new area and an old one we backtracked to. As the developers of Outlast say, enjoy!
If all the videos we posted this morning aren't enough, join us for a new livestream tonight at 9 CEST. If you have questions about the game, don't hesitate, we'll be happy to give you as much information as we can.
Update: Replay is available.
On top of our own videos, upcoming livestream and ahead of the game's release on May 16, here is the CGI launch trailer put online today by Focus.
The Surge will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One next week, but we've been able to play the final version for about a week. It is still too soon to give you our verdict, but we have a pretty good number of videos to share with you this morning. Inside, you'll find some PS4 Pro footage (in the 2 graphics modes available - Performance and Quality) and a series of videos captured on PC, while the game was running in 1440p. Enjoy!
