Well that's unexpected. Pretty ugly graphics but I like how at least 3 main characters you can see in trailer really do look like original actors. Surprisingly close in fact.
I presume Bond is going to be your usual mute faceless guy, otherwise they'd flash Craig's ugly face already?

Sad, isn't it? Remember when Goldeneye was first seen back in the day? Remember how good it looked and how fresh of an experience it was? It's pathetic how even with technology that makes an N64 prehistoric in comparison, developers STILL can't recapture that definitive Bond experience that an N64 could 15 years ago. The Moonraker inspired level on Goldeneye shits all over this.

Using N64 Goldeneye was just an example, mind. Still, I'd rather have that game than any Bond game of today. Seriously, I don't know if it's the gamers that are at fault, or the developers for not having any bollocks or ingenuity to make something great again. Sick of it tbh.

It's probably somewhere in between, although I would sway more towards gamers. As long as consumers keep biting and buying, why would companies upset the rhythm? Especially when they directly reap the benefits.

It's even understandable to an extent. The gaming industry is promoted as both an artistic medium and a profitable one; nowadays, a sizeable majority fall into the latter in terms of where their motives lie.

Is there anything wrong with that? Depends which side of the pond you're on, really.

I don't see what is so bad about this. It's a clean looking game without going overboard with shit post affects that these consoles can't handle and then the game looks like you're looking through vaseline covered lenses. The recent bond game ran smooth and looked real clean especially on the 360. I wouldn't be disappointed to see that again. I mean shit, if you want to see a shitty looking game go buy max payne 3. I haven't seen worse aliasing since halo 3 and the framerate is absolutely unacceptable. The game shouldn't have been released! But no one is talking about that. These shit consoles can only do so much unless you're a genius developer which there are less than 5 of. N64 goldeneye team was one but that was a long time ago. It's rare (no pun intended) that a team of that caliber ever exists. There are lazy developers but like i said, this generation of consoles was shitty garbage from the beginning. I had a PC that was more powerful than the 360 or PieceofShit3 before they were ever released. My POS3 collects dust. My PC is still going strong with about 60 games installed. My 360 gets played but it's behind my PC.
I will probably buy this bond game because I have accepted the limitations of my shitty consoles (unless the game is also available for PC) and I don't doubt it will be clean and smooth, and a good game in general.

@spaceman: it's not that it's so bad looking in it's own right. It's just that, well, it's hardly anything to make you say "Oh, now that look fantastic" is it? In fact, even before I came into the page and read anything or watched the video, three words were already in my head: Call of Duty. Was I wrong? No. That right there is the problem. That and the spate of developers hell bent on the copy and paste formula that series has spawned. Most other FPS's out there want to be it. Even Battlefield is trying to incorporate some of it's style into the series. It's just a pollution to the industry at the moment, but no one gives a toss because that formula sells. Look at Aliens:CM: looks like CoD in space with xenomorphs. Let's have a new Bond game based on all the legends. How will we set the template? Meh, let's have it CoD style but with silencers. Does my tits in.

I almost liked Goldeneye Reloaded. Until I got to the later stages and the games difficulty got really high, and the enemies got really annoying.

^^ what white says

Also space, you moan about the machines, and call the PS3 shit, yet it has some of the most impressive visuals on games (first party) uncharted and GoW are stunning, and yes pc are more powerfull.. your a bit thick if you ever think anything else

But you build a pc with the "exact spec" of a ps3 or 360.. will you get the same visuals on your pc as what a 360 or ps3 does? fuck no.

And you're a bit thick if you really think Uncharted and GoW look so good because the hardware is so special. It's because of the devs, not the hardware. People are so damn quick to pin it on the hardware and don't give the devs the credit. Those games would probably look and run slightly better on the 360 if they were multiplatform, and this has been proven time and time again with multiplatform games usually looking and running better on 360 hardware. Those devs would have squeezed more than 100 percent out of the 360 just like they have the POS3. There is still only so much you can do and I can see limitations even in those games. GoW looks like a glorified DX9 game. Where it lacks in some areas it excels greatly in others. The devs were smart, and the hardware is only as smart as the devs who harness its power.

No you can thank Microsoft for basing their Xbox 360 on old 2004 technology that multiplatform devs who make billions of cash don't have to bother pushing the tech of their old 2001 PC tech 3d engine.

Its to be expected since CoD is such a huge hit (and if you bought it you cannot complain here... lol because you are part of the problem) that variations of the game will just be minted as cookie cutter cash in.. and since they already tried or most likely succeeded with Goldeneye Reloaded its a no brainer to just rake in the cash like fishing with a huge net...
