and now they are making a number two.... dollars wasted if you ask me...
The fun of the first game was really the INSANE IN YOUR FACE INTENSITY of everything and the situations you ended up in, when the cars basically became this FORCE pushing everything on the track forward. It wasn't really so much about the huge things falling apart when you went out of your way to shoot it.
That's obviously what reviewers and onlookers thought though, because they really seem to emphasise that in the sequel and I think perhaps it's largely irrelevant if a house collapses or not. Then again, the intensity of the first game was related to all the crazy shit that was happening all-the-sodding-time, so even more stuff happening could be a good thing.
I just hope they solidify the framerate and give the tracks a bit of personality. I'm having real trouble remembering which one is which even today. I'm something of a closet fan of the first, and keeping an eye on this.
Seriously which PS3 owner in his right mind would buy this when they can have Motorstorm or Twisted Metal (rumoured to be in the works).
Sorry to who-ever wants this game to succeed but it will fall very flat.
And also, it's funny how you mention "killing franchises" and suggest taking PD off rails in the same sentence. :)
Shinobi, Nightshade, Blood Will Tell, Altered Beast, Rez, Space Channel 5.. I didn't exactly see those fly on PS2 either. Sega just weren't welcome anywhere.

the king is dead, hail the king.
As for FA2, I really enjoyed the first one a lot, so I'll be getting the second one when I get my PS3. :)
