certainly looks like theyre tweaking the graphics a bit, still yet to see a truly next gen fighter tho, maybe we'll have to wait for the next soul calibur, if only they could replicate the amazement of the dreamcast original, only with the power of 360 :o

character models, yes, but the backgrounds arent nearly as interactive/free roaming, so its much more limited in that sence

Is it just me or do these images look a lot higher res than the PS3 version?, it seems that SEGA are having a easier time converting the game to the 360.

The developers stated the 360 version has more anti-aliasing (less jaggies) so that might be why, there was a comparison at Neogaf, it was very evident on the ropes to the left on the 2nd pic.

Hmmm but why is it still so shiny... Damn it Sega learn how to make decent shaders already.

Looks like Toy Fighter 5. :(

And VF2 on the Saturn was the best fighter ever released. Fond memories.

I think DOA > VF in every way, but the latter is still a good game.

And I think exactly the opposite.. but to each their own. To me, this is a far better game, and far better looking in certain respects too. VF any day of the week.

VF2 in the arcade was far superior. At least this time around we get arcade perfect ports.

If you compare the xbox360 version of vf5 with the ps3 version wou will see that the graphics on xbox360 are much worce "just look the floor" its washed out , no detail at all !!!!! same for the backgrounds. I have the ps3 version and in my samsung HD looks crystal clear in 720p without any jaggies.
Its obvious that sega will have a hard time trying to replicate the ps3 version and to achieve that already the teaxtures are looking much worse next to the ps3 version.
I can prove it with some pictures but i dont know how to upload them.?.?.? can you help???

Its true that xbox360 version of vf5 is not a much for DOA simply because the graphics so far are a let down if you have played it on ps3 or arcade, but the ps3 version of the game is in another league, its the king of the beat em up genre with the most deep gameplay and animation ever created.I was a tekken fan but after played vf5 i lost my mind, simply a gem from sega.
Also remember that DOA created for xbox360 exclusively in deference with vf5 wich is a port from ps3 version created exclusively for it and for arcade (arcade version uses an nvidia gfx card wich is easier to convert on ps3 than on xbox360 so you see why the worse results on xbox360).
CONCLUSION: IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THE BEST VERSION OF THE GREATEST FIGHTING GAME ON ANY SYSTEM SO FAR (until vf6 comes out) PLAY IT ON THE SYSTEM IS CREATED FOR THE PS3.-))

Hey guys, Xbox360 version is not created by SEGA AM#2.

But, i feel 360 version looks good. Shading, modeling, effects looks are similar to lindberg version.
I playing arcade in japan, i hope to play this game on 360.

Its funny you say this, I also have the game for PS3 and I thought it was a huge disappointment graphically. Im running on a high quality bravia HDTV in 720P as well(via hdmi) and the game has its jaggies, but more importantly its just ugly in the backrounds. I love the game, but looks isnt what it has going for it, especially the PS3 version.

Granted, I dought it will look any better on the 360, maybe a few less jaggies if anything, but to sit here and hear people spew nonsense like "get it for the system it was created for" just makes me laugh. If you have a PS3 now, then its a good buy. If you have only a 360, it will be just as good of a buy then. I know im picking up a second copy for the 360 when it arrives, just for the achievements as the single player only aspect of the game leaves a lot to be desired.

Edit: for the record, living in japan like I do I am privy to being able to play VF5 in the arcades. Something I did often before it came out on the PS3, I find the PS3 version doesnt fully match up to the arcade version, but thier pretty much identical when it matters. Not sure where your seeing this superior quality, I think your pretty much blind.

The only blind person here is you my friend and I really believe that you have never played VF5 on PS3 or even in the arcades for you to say such crap. Honestly, I don't believe you even own a PS3 or VF5 because you're the only person who has said that VF5 isn't good graphically on PS3; You should buy some glasses or a new tv or both of them.
Sure all games have jaggies to a certain degree so does vf5 and as for the backgrounds they're incredible and i can't understand where you base your comment that they're ugly. Some people just cant be satisfied with anything and you're one of them. The strange thing with you is that although you have so many negative things to say about vf5 on PS3 you want to go out and "rebuy" it for xbox360 is that because its the only version of the game you can buy because it's the only console you own????? Personally I would never buy a game with so many faults (as you described before) if I were you.
As for whether the ps3 has the best version of the game you can simply look at the image under this topic and choose the same stage in the game on "your PS3???" and see the differences between them. less jaggies on xbox360 but all the textures and especially the floor textures are washed out same goes for the backgrounds and clothes.
Its easy to spot the differences when you put your "PS3???" next to your monitor i hope you do it soon.
I hope everyone with an xbox360 buys the game because it's the greatest beat em up ever (so far at least) regardless of the differences between xbox and ps3 version and have fun with it.
As for you RuneX, buy yourself the arcade version so you can be happy with the quality I think its pretty cheap in japan or maybe not?????? LOL

amiga500, even if the other bloke has not played on his ps3 i think the doa4 does look better and has more excitment to it and you are comparing a unfinished coversion of vf5 to a finished on? not really very water tight argument. Maybe it is you that is deluded? You really should not post such anti xbox stuff on a forum that is read by so many xbox owners and not expect some form of negative reply.

It's your opinion man, i have played dead or alive 4 and the only thing i can say is that it's only average at best.Same as doa3 on xbox only with prettier gfx but surely not a match to vf5's gfx no waayyyyy man. The characters in doa4 look like dolls (especially the women) thrown in crazy environments with dinosaurs and other crazy stuff, not very realistic right????
Im not against xbox360 but some people like RuneX make comments without having the proof to back it up and as for the comparison,i'm basing it on the images that already exist officially from sega and im not making it up.If sega doesn't want the game's technical problems to be publicized they shouldn't release them.
Sorry if the truth hurts...
