Codemasters finally released some new images (or should I say target renders?) of Colin McRae: Dirt, to be released one of these days on PS3 and Xbox 360. If the final game is as beautiful as this, wow :)

I think it just comes down to the coding and engine creation skills of Codemasters. If we don't see this with Colin Mc Rae : Dirt we will with Ralli Sport 3.
These are deff. renders.
Then wow!
The first shot shows obvious depth of field bleeding, which you won't get in a raytraced target render. This is very common perforamnce/quality tradeoff most games make (in fact, all games doing DOF so far do this to some extent, only exception is FightNight which uses a lower detail transparent extruded hull on the characters to reduce the effect).
Personally I think they very well could be genuine, but reduced size ultra high resolution images.
(stop dreaming :O )

I've still got my fingers crossed for RalliSport Challenge 3. I still get moments on RSC2 where i'm like: 'wow! this is on xbox?'
Compared to real rally simulators like Richard Burns Rally (may the man rest in peace), Colin is wafer thin paper, has absolutely no driving model and is just pure DIRT. Even the predecessor of RalliSport, Rally Masters by DICE buries anything Codemasters has ever thrown together (with a 6month sequel cycle).
I'm always looking for the next best racer but Codemasters has failed me and thousands of other true rally fans umpteen times, they will do it again.
RBR, Forza, GTR (coming to 360!) all the way, BABY.
Bullet time me all you want, I have spoken.
I know its not realistic lol its a joke compared to Richard Burns but Hey ! Its still fun like PGR3

That would eliminate all the usual 'is it real, no it's not in-game rendered real-time' differences of opinion that are ultimately fruitless once the game is released. Why do the developers always keep us guessing?
