Not really next gen graphics, but the first didn't have that either, and that game was great. Hopefully the horror / suspense from number one will transfer to number two.

I think it looks better ..its just alot better GFX games have come out from the 1st one ....just makes it look a little dated.. but i am getting it for sure ^___^

any word on co-op and muti-play? as they cut them from the 1st game due to time

Yo guys - go for the ball, not the player.

I didn't invent the term, but it fits and is easy to use, therefore I use it. And the best thing about it is, that when the 720 launches the term will nicely apply onto that console too - Yay!

The term next gen represents the capabilities of the next generation of consoles. As such, I agree. This looks poor for an Xbox 3 or ps4 game. For this generation, it looks fine. Compared to last generation, it looks awesome.

I just wanted to say that we can no longer say "next-gen" with 360 and Ps3, considering its the "current gen" and Xbox and Ps2 is "last gen".

If you keep saying "next-gen" then it means Xbox 3 and PS4.

Kind of what Abaddon said really.

Or just say "it doesn't hold up with other good looking current gen titles on Ps3 and 360".
But all I am saying is that next-gen is not for 360 and PS3 and, hehe Wii, anymore.
Its current gen, because all three systems is out, and Xbox and Ps2 and GameCube is old now.

You don't even have to say "gen" at all just say why it looks bad so people get the idea what you mean.

ah well...

pretty low-poly for a current game... not all bad, but one expects better nowadays.
these are ps3 gfx at best, but not good enough for 360. i sure hope they are not finished with the character models :(
maybe one wont notice as much in motion, but still...
definitely needs (and propably will get) more polish ^_^

looks pretty good to me...im a huge condemned fan, first game i got on the 360 and was my fave for a long time and its still a great game. go back and play the first and you can clearly see these images are of higher quality, everything from the enemies faces, backgrounds etc...just look at ethans? hands, in the first they looked undefined and very strange, here they actually look like hands with well defined nails.

i agree that its not the best looking game ever, the engine they're using just isnt too great. i didnt think it was too great when fear was released and i think it looks worse now, but condemned seems to use it better then fear does. the first game was all about suspense, viceral combat, decent enemy AI and a decent horror story. and im sure that will be true for this one too.

despite being a fan tho i'm not really excited for it. i'll pick it up no doubt, but there are much better games that interest me more.

FEAR maxed out on a PC still looks pretty good to me.. and it's a killer game. Can't wait for the yet to be named FEAR 2 as well. And it has an awesome although poorly told story too.

I sorta hated the way Condemned ended. It all seemed like it was building up to something big, and it just sorta doesn't. I hope this one flows a little better in that sense.

The thing that really bugs me about Condemned's ending is how they give you this choice right at the end -- but it doesn't change how the game ends at all. And they don't really explain how you get out of that situation, especially if you chose to execute the guy when you've got his uncle standing there with a gun to your head telling you not to do it.

Monolith rocks.

I thought FEAR 2 was going to be called Project Origin. The one being made by Monolith anyways.

And until the Playstation 2 dies, I think the term "next gen" still applies.

Oh? I didn't realise they had named it. It's not a prequel though.. so what's up with the weird prequelish name?

Nope.. the Playstation 2 has officially been last gen for years now. Next implies something that hasn't happened yet. What would you have us call the REAL next generation of videogames then? Nexter gen?

how can it be next gen considering this is the current gen for it to be next gen we would need to be talking about newer machines and thats the reason this is current get and not next gen next gen wont be around for a while and at the end of the day there is no next gen as once its out its current gen again and not next gen, so this is current gen not next gen or previous gen but current gen.

that was just a jk btw

I doesn't matter what you call it. That's just semantics. The idea is there are two different types of hardware on the market right now, the Wii/PS2 and the PS3/360. Call them what you will but there is a difference and until these "new" systems start outselling the older tech hardware, there needs to be a name to differentiate the two. That's all I'm saying.

And yeah that's the name for FEAR 2. The lost the name but get to keep Alma and the story. Don't know if it's a prequel or not. If not, your right, not a very good name.

I think the first one actually looked much better, though it ran like poo at times. Yes I played it through and the barnyard burning zombie fights ran like 2 frames a second.

This Monolith engine was and is too heavy to work properly. The Fear demo ran like poo on my brand spanking new 6800GT that cost 530 euros back in the day.
