It's now become a habit, no new videos of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for us, Youtube seems to be good enough for Kojima, so we'll have to survive with these 4 amazingly interesting screenshots of the game...

And yeah you can see the origins, the game's built for current gen, don't expect anything special for the next gen ver other than higher res and 60fps.
From what I've herd the next gen version isnt going to benefit alot, only plus is aiming for 60 fps as current is aimed at 30. But its still early to really judge as usually near the end of game development do they really polish the game. The new Fox engine does have a particular look to it that I like, I really wish we got a direct feed instead of youtube video or tgs stream "compressed to hell" video :/
This game just doesn't look next gen to me. From the videos I saw, it looked like a PS3 game at a higher resolution. n fact, I got confused by what I saw and had to look up the game to make sure it was next gen metal gear. Huge disappointment, as I was a little excited about possibly getting back into MG after these many years.
Crazy graphics or not, from gameplay standpoint, i loved it!
Second MGS title i will get since MGS4.
I hope Big Boss has his badass bandana combined with the new look at some point, or give us like head-design options like MGS4 with that. Including adding new gear. My favorite was Peace Walker look.
I never really enjoyed this series much at all, always found the storyline and characters far too overdramatic and ridiculous. It always took itself so seriously and I think that's what I find off putting. The gameplay was always ok I just always found the characters and story quite obnoxious.
There's a texture seam on that 2nd plank down from the upper left in screen #1.
Snakes head does not have individual strands of hair, or even properly rendered pores on his skin.
Also low polycount on that indent on the tarmac lying beside Snakes right foot on screen #3
Nobody who truly loves this series gives a shit about graphical nitpicking...The E3 demo with the open world Afghanistan was mind blowing visually, at least to my "untrained eyes". Graphics have largely ceased to be ugly to me for about a decade now and all improvements are small but welcome subtle changes.
That's the way it is now (a slow evolutionary crawl) and to endlessly whine and cry about it is such an unworthy use of intellect and time.

Then again, you knoe there are plenty of fans out there that will get it no matter what and even if it doesn't look amazing it might still be a good game. You know, that thing that games are all about. Not that i'm expecting that, considering the previous entries in the series, but one could always hope :P

The very first images and footage of MGS4 actually looked better then the game we got. The same will probably happen with this too. They're running the engine on PC with "comparable" specs to current gen and next gen. We still haven't seen how it runs or looks on actual hardware yet.

As will every cross platform next gen. Exclusives are the only reason to get a console nowadays.
I plan on skipping this next gen for my multiplats completely. PC technically is true backwards and forwards compatible, you only need to buy your games once on PC.
This gen i spent almost a thousand on games and supplies. with PC you can take all that hard cash and put it towards a real muscle beast and save money using Steam.
