Xbox 360

EA et Namco released these 52 images of Ridge Racer 6 on Xbox 360. It's worth mentioning that the anti-aliasing has not been enabled in these shots (yet hopefully).

I'm sure the game will be absolutely awesome, because it's Ridge Racer, but PGR3 definitely 1-ups the graphics here.

I don't think I have seen any full res screenshots for any game yet which had AA enabled in an obvious way.

I'm a huge RR fan so I'm getting it anyway. But it looks to clean, lifeless and sterile.

The ugliest thing are the jaggies all over... I still haven't seen any AA on any Xbox360 game and I'm starting to be really worried... it's the motion blur and HDR that everywhere is used. The ATI R500 seems to suffer from the same BS like the Nvidia cards. AA is not possible with those FX enabled.

They got embedded RAM and don't use any AA... this is more than just stupid...

So do I. I actually saw Need for Speed Most Wanted and a couple of other EA-titels running on the Xbox 360 on not-HD tv's. It looked... well... jaggy. Far too jaggy. Except for the bloomlight, Most Wanted looked as good (or in this case: bad) as Burnout Revenge.

Fair enough; I'll be on topic. The cardesigns are better than ever :)

Well there is one game that uses a heavy amount of AA (I'd say more than 2xMSAA): DoA4

I quess there will be some AA in every game. But since Xenos isn't designed to perform well in very high resolutions with heavy AA, every game will have some jaggies, too, if you look them closely.

ATi's new PC chip is actually supposed to be more than twice as powerful as Xenos when it comes to fill-rate (high resolutions and AA). Xenos performs well in lower resolutions and geometry-heavy scenes.

It'S not about looking closely. The absence of AA is blatantly obvious.

Xenos it built from scratch to support 720p with AA. The 10MB embedded Ram is only for using AA without any performance hit. So the GPU of the Xbox360 should be just perfect for 1280x720 and 4AA.

Everybody should be concerned why there is no AA yet. Of course MS says that the AA will be enabled in the retail versions but we know that marketing blabla most of the time is just....

btw. inquirer has news about Halo and Halo2 enhancements on the Xbox360!

The jaggies aren't that bad and do not bother me that much. I guess thats because I'm currently playing Shadow of the Colossus on PS2 =P. Anyways, I'm more disappointed that they are not using normal maps at all. Oh, well it is still a purchase.

Ummm, on a standard def TV you wouldn't see jaggies since the high resolution of the game would more than make up for it, only on HD-TVs would the jaggies be noticable. The games woulnd't scale down to 480p to be viewed on standard def tvs since that would result in smoother framerates in some cases and we'd have the same problem that plagues PC games (choosing between sharper or smoother framerates), there would simply be a loss of information when being viewed on a SD TV and in itself would act as an artificial form of AA. On an HD TV you can see the entire image and non-horizontal\vertical lines will be aliased. I dunno, I could be wrong. :)

Oh and these screenshots give me hope for this game.

Looks great, I don't see the problem with the graphics except for the aliasing. If this plays anything similar to the PSP RR, then I will definetly be picking this one up.
