Xbox 360 PS3

Namco released these five images of Beautiful Katamari Damacy. Clearly the game won't win prized for technical achievements, but it looks like a lot of fun.

@acm2000 it looks like katamari

I've bought the ps2 version but never touched it again because I bought a 360 soon after. This will be my second chance and katamari deserves it. Even if it's just for the music..

It's a shame each Katamari game is almost exactly the same as the previous ones.. even the HUD is the same. If they could think of something new to add to the franchise it'd be worth the purchase, but as it stands.. I've got the PS2 and PSP versions, and this looks like the same thing.

Hmm, what do I say here? I can understand wanting to retain the style of the game, and in all honesty in some ways I'm glad they didn't, but I really wish they would have done a few things to make it feel different. How about a few more colors? Katamari's palette has always had a washed out look, and I just assumed it was due to the PS2's memory restrictions in that more colors would have destroyed the framerate. I suppose it'll be quite a bit sharper thanks to HD resolutions, and I'm DAMNED glad they added a Live mode, but I can still be disappointed that this sequel won't be all it could have been.

He's still the cutest character ever in a video game; his dildo buddies too.

I bet this game runs at 2000 fps. Seriously they could slap a shader or two on the textures or throw some HDR in the mix. I'll puke in my soup if this game doesn't have 16xAA or something. I think "beautiful" means "fugly" in japanese. Still could be a fun game on LIVE.

Yeah, no kidding. I seriously hope they don't have the nerve to charge 60 dollars for this turd. Next-gen games cost 60 dollars because of the detail. I own Wii games that look better than this. Absolutely shameful.
