Xbox 360 PS3

Sega releases five new screenshots of Sega Rally Revo, first episode of the series to be released on a game console since Sega Rally 2 on Dreamcast. And it looks fantastic. If only seing these luxorious sets didn't make me so eager to go on holidays...

Hope it lives up to the orignal... but lately Sega arcade games on consoles lack a lot of features... but it looks nice... still dreaming of RallySport 3 tho...

Sega is a confusing company, after playing sonic and AC4 on x360 i was starting to think their designers had extra chromosomes... But then i played Virtua Tennis 3, and WOW, did they ever nail that game. So theres hope for this game.

On a side note, im starting to think EA isnt that bad, it appears all companies start going bad when they get past a certain size.

So true.. Beyond a certain size they're not run by people that love games anymore, but by corperate dickheads..

Consider me impressed if those pictures are of realtime mud deformation, and even more impressed if the deformations affect the car physics and handling...

Game looks amazing from the pics and I hold to it that this game still looks better than Colin Mcrae from the screen shots.

It may, but then again, if this game is more of the "looping rally tracks" and McRae is the "non-looping miles of rally course" that I've been wishing for in a rally game for years and years, then I would expect this game to look better. Either way, I hope both games are great because I haven't bothered to pick up a rally game since the Rally Cross series on the PS1.

Too bad that game was made by the same company that ported over Outrun to the original Xbox ;).

Game looks stunning! A definate buy for me when its released. The models look great for an arcade type game.... they are usually lacking.... but not in this case.

if you want this in a game, buy colin mc crae. theres too much simulation and realistic approaches these days which just make games pap. its not always about realism, i mean i still play sega rally on the saturn over forza. hell, i havnt even touched forze after buying it.

sega rally never had car damage or car physics deformation, so i hope they dont try to fix something which wasn't even broken to begin with. i can see this game being better than colin mccrae.

It was just ported by Sumo - Sega made it.

And yeah, realtime terrain deformations affect car handling. There's a brill Eurogamer article on it in the forum thread here.

I know but Sumo pretty much reMADE the whole game. For the PS3 the game was actually made by SEGA. But that is more because the GPU of a PS3 is pretty much compatible with the Lindbergh GPU. SO basically they could very easilly port the game over.:D

As for the 360 version, well the 360 GPU is not only from a completly different manufacturer also a completly different CPU. Therefor the game was pretty much REMADE instead of ported. PLus just like with Outrun Sumo added Game modi and other fun things to do as usual :).

Direct-feed HD gameplay footage at www.gametrailers.com. Which looks meme. [say: mehmeh]

NOTE: The cars don't leave trails in the mud and sand.. you'd say that's not bad, but it's kind of weird if you see it in those video's on gametrailers. (the buggy's in the sand)

- Though, in these screenshots you do see trails, but are they from the cars? It's a mistery!

I don't understand how that's relevant though. Sumo didn't magically make the game good from being bad - they faithfully reproduced what Sega had already made.

If your original comment was to diminish Sega's role in making VT3 into a brill game I disagree. Sumo made sure the port was similarly great though, and they're consistently reliable when it comes to handling stuff like that.

I agree with you Sega Rally for the Saturn remains one of the greatest racers of all time Sega Rally 2 for the Dreamcast was a disappointment and a poor arcade port that wasn't even handled by the same team. Which I think Mizuguchi handled hopefully this one doesn't follow suit I am really looking forward to this game.

The latest videos of Colin McCrae didn't show any noticeable dirt deformations...But anyway, I'm a fan of racing games so I'll probably end up getting Forza 2, Dirt, and Revo.
