I hope ps3 has a much more varied launch range..i want an awesome rpg or an action/adventure game
Can't wait to play it (the first title was fun as hell) but I'll be sure to turn off the motion sensor on the controller to achieve the full fun factor...
The water looks simply fantastic though, as well as the lighting. The "environment" is pretty sparse though, but hopefully that's just because this is over sea.
I used to back the 360 being the powerful system but no game ive seen can even come close to the stability of this title and this is just sony's mediocre game not even a blockbuster hit

And it's just not here either. Almost every forum I visit online these days, it's always the same. I go to the Microsoft forums and the gamers are busy mostly talking about the games and the new stuff coming out down the pipe. Heck, I even go to the Nintendo forums and they are all busy talking about Wii games and DS games and the possibilities of the magic that is to come. But everytime I go to the Sony forums, personally looking for more Sony information and talk, at least half of the talk is about what Microsoft is doing and how PS3/Sony is a million times better . . . very little actual talk and enthusiasm about the actual PS3 games.
Are Sony fans so insecure, that they just cannot sit back, play the games and enjoy the ride, no matter where that ride takes them? Look, it's not like any one game company could stay on top forever, things were bound to come crashing down around Sony eventually. Everyone rises and everyone falls; it is the natural order of all things in the universe. Nothing stays on top forever. It's spinning wheels. Someone wrote a song about this back in the 70s.
And before all the flames start with accusations of fanboy, I'll go on record and state that I am indeed a fanboy . . . a SEGA fanboy. My favorite system has been dead for half a decade now and the hardware company I cherished most, gone with it. I (will) own all three systems just to continually get my hands on the SEGA games . . . mostly. I have no particular interest in one system over another (well actually, I have to say that I am more excited about Wii than the other two systems, but if you have been gaming for as long as I have, almost 30 years, anytime you see something truly new come along, you do tend to get pretty excited about things; so please forgive me that).
I guess my point is, I know a thing or two about getting all worked up for one system over another; it's just not worth the emotional energy spent. You could be sharing that kind of passion with your girlfriend or your parents or even with helping the homeless or something, and accomplishing so much more in life. But to waste it so on a piece of cold, unfeeling metal and plastic, manufactured and supported by an even colder and unfeeling faceless corporation . . . what a waste.
Anyway, I came here to talk games, Warhawk specifically. I loved the original on PSX to dickens which I had bought at launch and had always hoped for a sequel; a sequel that never came. I would have been happy to see that sequel on the original PSX, but once SingleTrac got to making those Jet Moto games, they never went back to Warhawk. And so the sequel seemed to die after they finally broke up years later. There was talk about a Warhawk sequel on the PS2, and I am glad that did not happen. At the time when the original Warhawk came out, it was one of the showcases for next-gen power at it's time. The PS2 being a really horribly designed system, could never do a game like Warhawk justice until developers finally learned to tame the PS2 . . . which because of the system's bad design, unfortunately did not happen until last year, as games like God of War, Shadow of the Colossus and Gran Turismo 4 are testament to.
So finally we wind up at the dawn of the PS3, and with it, the sequel that I have been waiting very patiently for, for almost 11 long years. I for one cannot wait for the release of Warhawk, it being one of the very few reasons that I have decided to pick up the PS3 at launch. The game looks tight and there are still plenty of months for further improvements between now and November. The tilt control thing looks pretty silly, but should prove interesting to say the least. I just hope that to play the game will not require that I have to lurch all over the place like I am spassing out, like the guy at Sony's pre-E3 press conference. I felt embarassed for him, just watching him. I'd sure hate to have to play the game and look that much like a baffoon doing so. My father-in-law already thinks less of me in the first place because I play videogames at my age, and is always suing the seeds of subterfuge in my wife's ear. If he caught me looking that stupid playing Warhawk, that would probably be the end of my marriage . . . even if he had to kidnap my wife to keep her away from me.
Talk about a guy with issues
Fortunately, I already have the Mrs. addicted to heavy doses of the DS, regular sessions of Zuma and Geometry Wars on XBLA and I think she is more excited than me about the Wii coming out this fall. So "dad's" gonna have a fight on his hands if he wants me gone for 'spassing out' while playing Warhawk. That should please him to no end, I am sure.
And I for one, being a sony fan don't talk much about the 360 or Wii, I stick with talking about the PS3 and it's games. On the Gamespot PS3 forums there are lots of 360 fans which come by and intentionally introduce a system wars thread in order to annoy PS fans. There are very few PS3 fans who make these hreads, it is mostly 360 fans. <_<

Anyway, back on the subject of Warhawk. If this really is more of a remake, then I hope they keep the "gauntlet" level that was the final level in the original game. Talk about awesome level where they throw everything they got and then some, right at you. Very rarely in games do you get the pleasure of an entire level as the boss (as opposed to a single boss character). I remember playing that level for the very first time. I was literally on the edge of my couch, white knuckled the entire way through. Miraculously, I actually beat it on the first try without dying (something I have never been able to replicate), getting to the end and just making it through by the skin of my teeth; one more shot from the bad guys would have toasted me and sent me back to the beginning to attempt the level again. Great times!!! If this remake can revisit that level of fun to an all new generation of hardware, then you can count me in.
