yes i want that dynamic shadows and also want a gameplay vid :)
I really didnt like Morrowind, but with Elder Scrolls 4 a lot of weak points seem to have been eliminated. So this is a Must Buy to me...I hope this time i wont be dissapointed.
If by some very odd chance that the 360 version does not have shadows, it will be totally MS fault!! Not the fault of the devs, and not the fault of the system. After all, it does have 3 64bit CPU cores at 3.2 ghz, and a video chip more advanced than an r520. MS is just not giving these talented devs enough time to finish their games, and it IS going to bite them in the ass. I still stand, the 360 should not be released this early!
I don't think there's a single game that isn't being handled by a company with at least 5 years exp. in the industry.
The fact that there are major improvements just from TGS (which was only about 3 weeks ago) is a testament to that.
I hear these builds at the X05 aren't even current, so there are still improvements that have already been made, and continue to be made.
I don't think launch day is priority enough to warrant an unfinished title being released, for ANY company.
Plus, there have been no concrete release list.
There's that whole "Launch Window" thing that people can still work with (3 more months, which is a helluva lot of time to polish up stuff)
Why do I make posts like this?
shadows were ON in the E3 demo (running on a weak ATI 9800, with a respectable framerate), and OFF in the gamespot interview with Pete. hopefully it will run good on the 360 with shadows turned on by launch. most people are worried that it wont run on their high end PCs. well i think im going to just get it for my beast of a PC. ive got a 6800GT and theres no reason it shouldnt run perfectly smooth with dynamic shadows and everything on max.
just dont forget it was shown unoptimized on an ATI 9800 at E3!!! so theres no reason it shouldnt run really well on a high end machine. why is everyone on the oblivion forums forgetting this.
But Shadows are a sure thing in the final version. Of course they are.. They play a major role in the stealth aspect of the game, would be stupid if they werent turned on.
You really have to see this one in motion to understand why it's so gorgeous.
And I'm not worried about the shadows being turned on. Bethesda will definately include them in the final product. I mean, they have to. It's an improtant part of the stealth gameplay.

on another note: this is one of those games where the amazing graphics come from the amazing 3D textures, not extremely high polygon counts. like doom 3, it looked AMAZING on pc, yet had such amazing performance too.
that amazing looking brick wall in oblivions prison cell is really only 2 or 3 polygons, yet it LOOKS like its made of thousands at least. what they did was model it at thousands then save it into a 3d texture. amazing
