PC Xbox 360 PS3

Lucas arts showed behind closed doors during the last E3 a brief presentation of his next Starwars, now's the time to share it with you! Sorry though about the poor quality of the video...
The physics engine is the center piece of this presentation, and it remembers us of the "CellFactor" demo (AGEIA PhysiX tech demo) where the player can throw the objects everywhere in the scene...
Update: First three artworks.

yes it's old and was showed first as a ps3 work in progress movie. Nice to know that it's planned for the xbox360 as the concept looks very promising.

To the ppl that say it is old: Blim states this was shown during last E3. He never stated this was new. Also, we hardly care if you saw it before.
I am certainly not impresed by the physics in this trailer. And more than turned off by the star wars license.

Actually the technology to that is very real. That is a combination of Euphoria and Lucas Arts new DM technology. That video was pure CG but the animation and physics like that are already possible. For instance, Lost Planet is already using euphoria. All the characters animate based on AI and bio-physics. An example is when you shoot off the legs of one of those giant insect things you actually see it stumble and actively try to rebalance itself with its remaining 3 legs in a realistic manner in real-time (no scripting). Of course, Capcom doesn't seem to be using the technology as much as Lucas Arts (who are in a partnership with the creators).

Indiana Jones is going to be the first game to really show of the tech. The vid the showed at E3 was extremely primitive and floaty due to the games early stage but it was still impressive. For instance lets say a character is thrown into the air by an explosion he will actively look for something to prevent his falling (in one case he actually caught a ledge). When push them, as they fall they will try to rebalance themselves by trying to latch on to something or buffer them selves as the fall. They try to preserve themselves in other words. This could be a big leap for AI.

DMM technology is basically the ultimate destructibility/physics engine that allows objects to be manipulated and destroyed based on their physical characteristics. I need to read more on this so I will get back to you later (I have been mostly focusing on Euphoria).

The tech that the video is showcasing is real, but in an interview with a games journalist, a PR guy from LucasArts confirmed that the video was a target sequence which they created to show what their end product would look like.
It's not a 100% trailer nor is it using any of the state-of-the-art tech thats been talked about already. It was created to give the prpogrammers working on the game a target to reach.

target videos and screenshots should just be ignored...completley. Check out all the old xbox360 previews like the 1st Madden trailer, or Nba2k6. Or the PS3 trailers like Motorstorm and Killzone 2. None of the games looks nearly as good. This wont either.

Remeber seeing this a month or so back, I think it's mostly pre rendered. Sigh I wish LucasArts would stop making the old UBER Jedi games, I for one think Jedi are one of the worst things in StarWars, I much prefer playing a normal character or Bounty Hunter in those games.

I like those games too, but I would love me some next-gen Jedi action! Too bad I will be turning to the dark side.

Just that you know: The last Killzone 2 trailer was in-game footage. It's even stated in the newest trailer of MGS4. (In the end of the 8.15 minute trailer, that robotcamera guy explains it all)

Looks plane boring, the physics is quite lame to, just moving some objects who's set to be movable, nothing new at all. If they can come with something that a game is 100% complelty destroyable, then sure that wuld be something.

Some of you are being a little too anal about this tech demo/video.

Some of us still love our SW franchise and are willing to pay for it if it's worth it. Battlefront I @ II, Republic Commando, Jedi Academy and both Kotor games were great games that I consider being worth it.

Jedi, bounty hunter or what ever... I look forward to future SW games and have hopes they turn out as fun as the previously mentioned games.

This game uses a graphics engine called ''digital molecular matter'', and a physics engine called ''endorphin''.

I suggest you all google them and read up.
