We kinda forgot to tell you about the upcoming XBLA and PSN remake of the old Turtles in Time, entitled (take a deep breath) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled. To fix this negligence, here are six screenshots, not really new but which haven't never been posted here before.

Looking forward to this, but so far pretty much every preview has been rather negative. They've apparantly done something to the controls..

how wouldn't they? It's a 3D brawler where you can now face top and down and not just slide the bitmap up/downwards like all 2D Brawlers ( DDragon, SoRage, etc ).

Do this version includes the original 2D Arcade Version? I think I read that somewhere but with no confirmation.

Why do these XBLA updates of old games always seem to look like poor PS2 games. The download caps are high on XBLA now, there's no reason for devs to aim so ridiculously low with poly/texture/shader counts.

The game looks quite nice in motion, and big deal because of the animation.

Big Budget game? No thanks, don't really want another 1 Gb, Watchmen 3 hours game for awhole 20 bucks.

Again, if the pricing of this is more than 1200 Spacebucks (Day 1 @ 800), hasta la vista.

I'm looking forward to this remake but I think using borderline N64 quality graphics is inexcusable. Why can't it have Watchman quality graphics? It wouldn't suddenly make the game worse. In fact it would be the total opposite as it would be a lot more enjoyable to look at. Or how about cell shaded graphics so it could look just like the old cartoon? (Which was the look the original 2D arcade game was going for afterall.)

Don't you guys understand that the only reason Microsoft have re-made this game (so to speak) is to justify the 1200mp price point that it will inevitably come to be. Everyone knows, even Microsoft that this game has been a sought after XBLA game for quite some time, and that we all would have been more than happy to just have a direct port of the original game, with no graphical enhancements. But no, MS want a reason to justify a much larger price point. I say F that. Vote with your wallet guys, and please don't get this game, should it be 1200mp. I beg you, its the only way MS are going to get it through their heads.

Well, whoever did, doesn't matter. Microsoft gave the green light, and that's all that matters.

like night and day.
It's obvious this isn't a game that gains from being upscalled to 1080p. Just like all those Snes/Genesis games.

Since I am really looking forward to this game I hate to admit it, but I think it actually looks worse than the 2D version. The foot soldiers look like toddlers in Halloween costumes, haha. Hopefully they will improve it some before release.

Graphically, I don't see what all the whiners are crying about. In motion, the game looks stunning. The developers (whomever they are), kept the flavor, style and general color palette of the original arcade/SNES title, and gave them a proper next-gen update (complete with 720p, 5.1 surround and really nice lighting/shadow). Definitely looks a lot better than "borderline N64".

people don't like bad screen, it seems.

I can't expect much more from what they already acheived. The game can play bad, play like nothing resembling the original, etc, but visuals? At least in that, they are very decent.
One thing I don't generally like in 3D Brawlers if the effect of swinging in air with the attack moves and having almost no feedback, as it seems its like in this one.
I prefer to hit one target and getting locked to him so I can hit in combos like Streets for Rage. I will wait till I can play the Trial.

I'd only seen the screenshots so I was going by them. While it does look better in motion, mainly because of the shadowing (which isn't evident in the screenshots) and animation (which obviously isn't evident in the screenshots either), I'd hardly call it stunning, especially because of its very low poly-count and generally poor textures (which ARE evident in screenshots) eg.

http://images.gamersyde.com/gallery/public/10901/1...

Although it's hard to judge any of it, good or bad, going by an off-screen video that's been coverted to a low-res and highly compressed YouTube video. (It hasn't even been uploaded in HQ, let alone HD.) After watching the videos I am willing to change my mind and say that it doesn't look like an N64 game anymore, it looks more like a Dreamcast game which is more acceptable, although I still think they could have made the graphics a lot better.
