This really reminds me of a more technical souls game. Even the slightly stilted way the main character moves is similar. It looks pretty good.

Really don't know what to think overall but it looks promising. Hope I didn't misunderstand the dev, where he implied, pvp is end game. I'll have to listen again.

KORNdog, I thought there'd be more comments. The only thing I don't like is a pvp end game. Which might mean the game isn't for me if end game pvp is much more of importance. Makes sense for the online focus they're going for though.

Another thing, there seems to be no grappling/throw moves. Maybe it's in there or planned but it is alpha, would think basic fighting mechanics are set? I'm not talking about making the game an mma grappling fest or being able to produce ridiculous juggling, like some fighting games. Maybe another way to create space between you and your adversar y/ies, while slightly-mediumly punishing them. Whaddaya think?

throws seem like an addition that would make sense. as for PVP being end game content, i'm not all that worried. the souls games have quite a strong focus on end game PVP too with the invading systems and it tends to be what people move onto once they've had their fill of the single player content. so i think it can work.

This game reminds me a lot of the Naruto fighters on Gamecube.
I don't know if anyone here played those, my friends and I mostly had to play them via imports and a specal boot disc.
I think they eventually came out in the USA.

Having played those though, it makes Absolver's game speed really apparent. It looks SO SLOW
I wish I tried it at Pax because it does look promising. But the stiff animation and speed kill it I think
Otherwise the art style is really cool and I like the concept

i think they're going for a considered combat system (again, like souls), rather than a fast, spammy button masher.
