Exactly 30 years after After Burner, this is fast paced arcade action evolved. It's a shame that VR is only supported in a separate mode, and not the campaign.

from what i've read i think it's practically the entire campaign mission wise, they just couldn't work around the cutscenes and story stuff while maintaining that sense of presence, so they just moved it to a VR mode instead minus those elements. i was honestly worried it was going to be something like the x-wing mission, some tacked on short proof of concept.

So there's a substantial amount of content to be played in VR, a bit like RE7? Great news if so.

previews stated several hours. so while it may not be RE7, i'm expecting something better than say, tomb raiders or battlefields implementation of VR.

Several hours. Not too shabby, then. I'd imagine a big part of that reasoning would be the nature of the game in VR, i.e vom inducing. I wasn't too bad with Eve or the COD demo, so I should be grand with this.

I play DCS, a flight simulator, with a VR set and most of the time you fly in a straight line or do fine tuned adjustments, but it doesn't take many minutes before my stomach starts getting busy if i do acrobatics while looking around. The Ace Combat games are usually very hectic with loads of quick movement in all axis, so i can imagine it being hard if you're not immune to motion sickness. Also, playing with a gamepad as opposed to a flightstick, you get more exaggerated movement.

The thing that helped reduce motion sickness for me was a using a seat with motion feedback, which gets data directly from the sim, tricking my body into believing the movement my eyes sees.

They said about 15 hours of VR content. Still, the lack of story is a big disappointment for me, i wouldn't mind even if it was pure 2D CG like RE7. Anyway, 15 hours sounds great.
