SEGA and The Creative Assembly have put online a new dev diary of Alien: Isolation entitled Lo-Fi Sci-Fi where the team discusses their inspirations to create that retro look of the future in order to stay faithful to the original film.

love their passion for what they're doing. you get a real sense they give a shit about capturing the vibe of the first movie right down to the smallest of details. one of my most anticipated games this year.

I agree - and definitely going to be an absolute belter of a game, it looks and even 'feels' amazing due to the atmosphere they create. Absolute quality game in the making from the looks of things.

Kinda feel sorry for the guys making Routine, I hope they aren't overshadowed by this game, Creative Assembly have definately taken a lot from their approach to game design and their art direction philosophy. Looking forward to it though, hope the final game doesnt suck though like A:CM... :/

Yea, although I wonder if it's actually more of a positive. Especially as they are both single-player games. Fans of Alien may, after playing Isolation, go off looking for something similar & discover Routine.

I mean I've certainly heard more people speak about Routine since Isolation was announced.

I know I am eager to play both!

They are trying to stay faithful to the original film, thats ok... however almost 10 whole years before that 2001 Space Odyssey had flat screen lcd type HDTV monitors...

In Prometheus its understood that the ship is a billionaires' custom space cruiser and in Alien its understood that its just a worker ship.

Was very impressed from what I played of it, love the look and the Xenomorph AI is quite unpredictable.

There's time and money for both :)

Routine seems to have more combat than Alien here.
