Press release:

2K Sports Serves Up Another Winner With Top Spin 4

Captures all the intensity, emotion and excitement of a real-life tennis match; exclusive opportunity to play as Andre Agassi, one of the all-time tennis legends.

Tuesday 7th September/... 2K Sports announced today that Top Spin 4, the latest iteration of the Top Spin tennis simulation video game franchise, is scheduled to release in 2011 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and WiiTM system from Nintendo. As the release date draws near, 2K will inform gamers about an exciting pre-order incentive; an exclusive vintage Andre Agassi playable character.

“Top Spin 4 is shaping up to be the most realistic and exhilarating tennis game in the Top Spin franchise,” said Greg Thomas, president of product development for 2K Sports. “For this iteration, the development team is focused on delivering a bold new take on the sport of tennis by allowing gamers to experience first-hand an uncanny level of realism in the player and stadium models, authentic audio captured directly from real tennis matches, and all-new innovative controls to dominate the competition.”

In development at 2K Czech, Top Spin 4 brings the competitive action of tennis to life like never before with redesigned controls, jaw-dropping player models and Signature Style animations, enhanced TV-style presentation elements, and one of the deepest player rosters to date featuring tennis’ top athletes and legendary pros. To commemorate the fourth version in the Top Spin series, 2K Sports is offering an exclusive vintage Andre Agassi playable character with pre-orders, details of which will be announced at a later date.

EViL_kRi if you think TS3 is "utter crap" and Virtua Tennis 3 is a tennis game worth owning than you really don't like the sport "Tennis", because Top Spin 3 is the best simulation of the sport and that's unquestionable! Although mastering the game is really tough.
Of course it has many flaws like the movement and other things that hopefully will be corrected this time and 2KSports better put a decent lineup of players like Soderling, Verdasco, Tsonga, Berdych and others that usually don't appear in tennis games.

I thought this series was declared dead by 2k? Either way, awesome news!

Top Spin 3 is easily the best tennis game ever (not that there are that many proper tennis games, but still). Can't wait to see some footage. Hopefully they will implement some proper ambient sounds this time as they are promising, and I really want the option to have a commentator during the matches.

I'll just say I disagree, and leave it at that.

(Lame reply, I know. But I've participated in too many Top Spin vs ... discussions already). :P

Not sure what to make of it. The players do look much better, yet the environments look to have been lifted straight out of TS3.

Agassi in his career mostly wore Nike (especially in the mullet period) and I suspect Wimbledon will be making a non-show - so British Open it is again!

No XSN Sports.net this game has lost 75% of value.
If the Xbox 360 is to compete as it has been demonstrated to give more support to equal parts that they removed support for web personalized management of competitions?

Add, do not remove ... Remember this Microsoft / 2K Games.

---

Sin XSN Sports.net este juego a perdido el 75% de valor.
Si la Xbox 360 es para competir como bien se ha mostrado dando mas soporte a la partida igualada, por que quitaron el soporte por web de la gestion de competiciones personalizadas?

Añadir, no quitar... recuerdalo Microsoft / 2K Games.
