Xbox 360

Microsoft is finally stepping up with the XBLA releases since we get another dual week with these 2 new games: Pinball FX, a classic but nicely done pinball game, and Eets: Chowdown, a puzzle game with a weird sense of humor. Images and videos inside.

I'm really looking forward to pinball... Miss getting my pinball fix with Pro-Pinball on the PC.

I'll definitely be trying it out.

Eets is kinda hard to understand without playing it. It's generally described as "Lemmings meets The Incredible Machine". It's a puzzle game that's partly in real time.

Basically, you have a little guy that will wander around on his own, and you want to guide him to the goal. Before the level starts you can place a certain number of interactive objects in order to guide him where you want him to go. Then you have to trigger them at the right time once you set the level in motion.

Then that Marsho Madness minigame... that's something completely different.

Aha! I figured it was something like Lemmings..that kinda cool I guess..but I'd prefer not for real-time action once the level is in play.

And I like the gameplay a bit in Eets: Chowdown.

I just flat out have a moral issue with paying $10 to play Pinball. Something about that just isn't working for me...

“Eets: Chowdown” from Klei Entertainment Inc. is a visual feast for the eyes and a treat for the brain, combining 2D puzzle game elements with a surreal sense of humor. Gamers must use colorful and wacky items like spouting Prankster Whales, vengeful Marshomechs, Radioactive Ginseng and more to manipulate Eets’ emotions and safely guide it through myriad hazards to each level's exit.

“Eets: Chowdown” offers a slew of new items, 120 levels and the exclusive debut of Marsho Madness, a high-adrenaline action game in which players must keep the impending evil marshmallows at bay. "

I might agree, but it does look pretty good. The number of tables is the biggest concern I have.

Pinball FX looks the most graphically realistic pinball game to date, sadly its gonna be raped to hell by DLC, making it uber expensive and a complete ripoff

edit: yep, only 3 tables, con, as alwasy with pinball games, and no doubt extra tables will be like 200 points each or something, still, better than pro pinball rip off (even tho it was the last decent pinball game)

Eets looks very stylistic, and very....weird lol

On eetsgame.com you get a demo for Eets, if you can't wait. It's quite funny.

800 points for Pinball FX is actually really cheap. For 8 bucks you only get 24 balls on a real pinball machine.

its funny how they give it like downloading tables is a god given "feature".
Of course we're gonna have to pay for those tables, right?<<

Both games look really cool though.

Using that kind of logic, SF2 should be like $800 instead of 800 points. If they had more tables, I'd bite.. but I'm not getting raped by microtransactions on this one. I like my games to come mostly complete..

The pinball looks and plays great, but I just wish they had put a lot more time in planning the tables. 800 points would be fine for 3 tables in my opinion, if they were GOOD.

They all just seem so empty and boring somehow. But that's probably the best texturework I've seen, even though that's something you would expect from a game like this... very pleasing to look at.
