I have heard sooo much about this series but never played a single one... are the current gen ones worth checking out? the last one with mega bosses looked very interesting but I heard it had too many frame rate problems

if you can't stomach going back to the first one (ps1) ... or those on ps2, then you're not missing much ... this series took a dive ... not much is expected of it any more

To be honest (deafwing)...i really liked the ones on the original Playstation more than these (might be mistaken but i thought there were 2). Really because they were what most people call ''original''.

The latest ones to come out IMO haven't been all what i remember the first ones being.

I want Chromehounds 2... Armored Core always was somehow too cheesy in some way.

I enjoyed what I played of armored core 4 but seriously, chromehounds was where it was at. One my most played xbox games seriously loved it, my 1st major mech game and thoroughly enjoyed it. Shame it's failure will probably mean a sequel will never see the light of day =(

the chromehounds multiplayer was just plain awsome! I bet that there are still some people out there who play that clanbased.

Steel Battalion looks awesome. That and you won't have to buy the 200 dollar controller. I always used to say that I wanted Virtual ON in a single player story game(fast paced Mech game), and Armored Core has always been the closest (albeit never accomplished). I've always wanted Armored Core to be really good, but it always missed the mark for me. Of course, now that I'm Older, I'd really like a bad-ass Mech Warrior/Steel Battalion...

Ever heard of a little game calles Zone of the Enders 2? :)

AC lost what it had going for it when it left the PS1. The first few games, like AC, Project Phantasma and Masters of Arena were fun games and at least somewhat deep for the time and system. With AC 2 though, i expected more and they didn't deliver. AC4 did bring some improvements but by then the game just felt stale, outdated and lacking in almost every way in spite of that. They'd have to do one hell of a job with this one to bring my love for the series back :\

From the interviews From has given so far on this, the multiplayer sounds a LOT like Chromehounds. It also sounds like the campaign is going to focus on multiplayer as well, but I hope it's executed better than say Lost Planet 2.
