Video Xbox 360 PS3

The demo of Army of Two: The 40th Day was released yesterday on Xbox Live and PSN and so I decided to capture the Xbox 360 version with the help of Miguel, a French Gamersyder. The game is rather fun to play even though the graphics seem a bit outdated overall and the Aggro system causes some oddd AI reactions at times. I don't know if it will be enough to keep players interested but it is worth a look if you are into action packed coop games. Two more videos will come later this morning.
Update 2: Last video is up.

Played the co-op demo this afternoon. Not much of a step up from the largely unliked first game. I can't see this game doing very well outside the few who actually liked the first one.

OH GOD why is there curb-stomping in this game (end of 1st video), fucking disgusting! The "Camaraderie - " stuff was hilarious as always, though.

Just like the 1st game, I'm more interested in Kane and Lynch now because of the story, even if the co-op tactics aren't as elaborate.

tried playing the demo 4 times since yesterday morning.. still havent been all the way through it. Already have no desire to sit through that intro one more time.

From what i have played of it the graphics are alright, but the controls are a whole heap of clumsy.

American posturing at it's best though

Seems like a step-up from the previous game, no doubt about that... altough i'm not sure about the controls. It felt kind of... imprecise, a feeling i havent felt in a modern 3rd person shooter in a while. But its maybe just the settings or lag, because I played with a random dude.. =)

However, the ppl that complains at the graphics; i hope you dont mean the original looked better? Because in that department its clearly a step-up. Looks much better; a more warmy look, more natural looking textures and nice looking lighting effects. And I'm suprised by how much this games seperates from other Unreal ENgine 3-games... it's usually the same generic look in all those games, but this looks smoother and warmer, and the textures doesn't look exactly the same. :)

I agree it looks better than the first, but what you say about the UE3 is not true. Bioshock, Rainbow Six Vegas (1&2), Mirror's Edge, Batman:AA, Brothers is Arms: HH are all very different in art style and are not generic at all.
BioShock was based on a heavily modified version of Unreal Engine 2. Not 3.

Anyway, I didn't say there wasnt exceptions, just that many UE3 games look the same with identical ground textures and that kind of thing... But Mirror's Edge, for instance, truly looks fantastic - mainly because its stunning art style. But many UE3 games tend to look the same and suffer from the same shortcomings within the engine (choppy framerate, texture pop-in, flickering/pixelated shadows etc.) But ofc there are some UE3 looking more unique... however neither you or I can know how much they've modified the engine to reach that result. =)

This one isnt as good as the first one. Everything just feels so clunky and fake for some odd reason. The cover system is still the gayest and uhhh.....its just horrible. I would rather play the first one for real.

I agree. Liked the first one, but this one seems slower and clunkier.

Army of Two: The 40th Day is a third-person shooter based in groundbreaking cooperative gameplay functionality. Sequel to the 2008 game of the same name, and featuring series heroes, Rios and Salem, in this new iteration players have a bigger playbook of features and a new arsenal of co-op moves that either player can perform at any time, opening up fresh strategies in the face of overwhelming odds. In addition, the game features advanced weapon customization and upgrade systems, as well as four explosive online multiplayer modes, each focused on unique cooperative play.

Tried the co-op demo. It has some things going for it, like the customization. But it's just so average in every aspect. Played GoW2 with a friend before trying the demo, and the controls in GoW2 are just so much better and more fluid. There's a delay from animations in Army of Two, which you'll instantly notice and it's so frustrating. Didn't they test this game with a focus group or something? It plays horrible. The visuals, sound, game design and overall feel of the game are cheap at best. The way I see it, nothing was improved over the last game.

It really feels like a budget game. I haven't felt that since 99 Days of the Dragon!
