Ubisoft announces with a trailer, the Dead Kings DLC for Assassin's Creed Unity that takes Arno to visit the underground tombs of former French Kings. It will be available next week and free to all purchasers of the game.
At first i thought it was in-game. But it is CG, however i will say that the beginning part where it shows the city--the in-game visuals on ultra actually look pretty much identical.
The level of detail in this game is insane, and im sure the developers would have been commended for their art-work, and bringing paris to life, had they not screwed up the actual engine framework, which caused all the bugs, and performance issues (on console and PC).
Free for buyers of the game, because of the rather.....not so great launch in terms of bugs and such. Season Pass owners even had the chance to download a free game like Far Cry 4, Watch_Dogs etc...
I got AC:Unity free w/ my XB1 and I haven't had a single urge to play it since I attempted on day 1, and was so disgusted by the product. Really don't know when/if I'll play that game, or another AC game for that matter

Yeah, it's a shame of all the technical issues after launch, because other then that this game is stunning! I waited until last week with buying this game (on PC), first I finished Far Cry 4 which was also very good and now I'm enjoying Unity a lot.. I do not have any serious issues with the game now and it runs fine on my PC.. I really like the setting and like you said the level of detail is insane!! Ubisoft really makes high production value AAA games.. And free DLC coming up now aswell, nice..
This dlc its probably gonna be better than the actual game because a. Its from a different studio within ubisoft b. they had more time to optimize, polish and c. I like how it seems more dark and mysterious

Or D) its going to suck as bad as the regular game did.
For someone who just ''attempted'' the game, you sure do seem to have a very good understanding of the content of the game, gameplay mechanics, and visuals to throw around that type of statment...right?
You clearly did exactly what you said--attempted the game, and then never went back. You got the game free for christs sake, and some bugs that were later fixed made you ''disgusted''...? Look, if you spent your ''hard earned money'' on the product, i could understand being mad, but you clearly arent the type of person that was ever interested in the game if you were to just try it once, and not even want to go back. The game wasnt that bad off, and they patched it every week.
Look what Inflatable said. He, just like me is able to look past the bullshit now that the game is working well, and he is enjoying it, just as i did. You would be ignorant to not try out this game, as it actually is one of the better AC games in terms of the gameplay, and mechanics--especially if you got it for free.
@ Inflatable
Yeah, i have it on PC as well, and it worked for me from the start, albeit not very well until the first patch, and by patch 3 my performance was pretty much solid on ultra settings 1080p. You need a very good card for this game, im running a 4gb 770 classified, and this game uses between 3500-4070mb of my vram consistently. The Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion + makes the buildings look nearly photo-realistic, but not just the buildings, everything as well. The overall rendering is fantastic, definitely among the best out currently. Paris is so much fun just to explore, walk around, get into brawls, run the rooftops--which is actually fun to me now, since you have more control over your character, and it just seems more realistic. Glad I stuck it out with this game. I've easily put 60 hours into the single player, just exploring, unlocking chests, collecting cockades, and farming assassin credits for upgrades on weapons/gear. If there were no bugs at launch, and was well optimized from the start, i would say this game could easily be 8-9/10 material.

Or.... You liked the game and I don't. I just beat far cry and played a few hours of Unity and my feelings remain the same. Its a super boring game. The combat is somehow worse than ever, and stealth feels worse than black flag. It does run better now though, no arguing that. Its just a shame the game itself is so boring and frankly not fun to play.

Hope the plot will be interesting. Unity's plot was painfully dull and I didn't know what was going on half the time.

Even now, the performance still sucks.
