After a quickly aborted career in Park Ranger Simulator, we turned our attention to the Early Access version of Ranger's Path: National Park Simulator, which is available starting today on Steam. Visually, there's no contest: To-Go Games' title is far superior to its direct competitor, even if it also suffers from optimization issues (our 5080 struggles a little too often in 1440p with a resolution scale of 90%) and a few bugs (for example, it's impossible to use the controller for the painting mini-game) . It's difficult to judge its long-term appeal given our limited playing time, but the speed at which park visitors leave litter behind is irritating to say the least (and unrealistic, even taking into account the stupidity and selfishness of many people in this regard), which leads us to believe that the game still needs some tweaking to simulate a coherent world. The few mini-games that are supposed to simulate the daily activities of North American park rangers are certainly not extraordinary, but if the map is large and varied enough, with a few surprises to discover, and if the other activities we have yet to discover are interesting enough, the game will potentially be worth it, for the nice strolls it will offer at least. In the meantime, we would advise you not to rush into anything and to follow the progress of the project with the future updates before taking the plunge, especially because we ran into a game breaking bug after yesterday's update which forced us to force quit the game and launch it again.
