GSY Video PS5

Backward compatibility is a pretty big deal for the launch of the new generation as it can add more games to play at launch, especially for those who didn't own an Xbox One or a PS4 before. Playstation 5 allows to play older titles which had no framerate lock much more smoothly now. It's the case of inFamous: Second Son and Until Dawn, which we both captured to show you guys the result. Now some more recent PS4 exclusives have already been patched to take advantage of the new hardware and what we have seen in Ghost of Tsushima and Days Gone is really exciting. We certainly hope more updates will come soon, but until then, why don't you check out all our high quality footage?
Note: The Days Gone video has 2 distinct parts, one showing gameplay and the other focused on performances

First and foremost, I would like to thank you and davton for all of this next-gen coverage, specially when videos take time to make and specially render at 4K@60fps.

Second, I'm truly happy console players get to experience 60fps. I've been watching some reviews and watching streams, and it's really great. I've even heard the guys from Easy Allies, who always said they didn't care about framerate, say that going from 30fps to 60fps was a game changer... No kidding. lmao

And it does look smooth. Framerate, reduced loading times and faster streaming of assets are the real main points of next-gen for me. The things that make this new generation stand far and apart from the last one.

To all console players, welcome to smooth gaming. Cheers!

Thanks for the videos. Would love to see some FF7R though. Still curious if or not the texture issue can be mitigated by PS5's more horsepower, but I guess it's unlikely.

I don't know about the whole textures thing, however a reviewer said that he checked the infamous door with low textures and it wasn't fixed. He mentioned he specifically checked it, as he knew people would ask him that. Not sure about any other textures, it seems it's better performance and faster loading on PS5.

That's not something BC would fix, the devs have to make a specific ps5 patch for things like that.

The ghost and days gone patches are great. Tlou2 better get a patch or a remaster too. Even if the only enhancement was 4K 60 it would still be so amazing. Some extra stuff i'd love if they improved would be higher quality motion blur, better shadows in some levels and better lods. I think textures were already almost perfect throughout the game.

The quality on the PS4 is still unmatched. I don't recall sharper textures in an open world than Days gone. If Sony will treat the order 1886 with the same 4k 60fps it will take a very long time for any PS5/XSX titles to match it, let alone surpassed.
