Trailer Xbox 360

When it comes to pushing the limits of the parody genre, the guys from Rockstar have always been among the best. Once again, they prove their skills by releasing this new trailer of The Ballad of Gay Tony showing what an anime looks like when it is on TV in the world of Grand Theft Auto IV. The last exclusive addition to GTA IV will be available at the end of this week on Xbox Live and also at your local retailer with Episodes from Liberty City, the collection including The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned.

He, he- Perfect! Has nothingto do with the game other than what you hear on the radio, but pretty much nails 90% of anime...

I am not gonna claim i am the biggest 'know it all' when it comes to Anime, but 90% of anime? Glad i am watching GOOD anime that, like Death Note, Monster, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist. There sure seems to be ALOT of crappy Anime then.

Alimo, did u ever listen to the radio stations? One of the adverts was about a japanese cyber schoolgirl sex ninja series, this is just an awesome spinoff, and a nice piece of tongue in cheek comedy related to the game.
Think of it as something similar to the comedy club or tv shows...

This wouldn't even amuse an anime fan, just looks like they were trying too hard.. a pretty dull parody that doesn't take away from the game, yet doesn't add to it..

If you check the official GTA IV website, not only is Princess Robot Bubblegum a series of repeating commercials on Liberty City radio stations that have been there since the GTA IV disc launched back in the Spring of 2008, but in the upcoming Ballad of Gay Tony expansion pak, it is now a full-fledged, multi-episode, television series on Liberty City's in-game television stations.

And quite frankly, if i is even half as good as the too awesome for words, Republican Space Rangers, then this little anime, will turn out to be one of the best in-game easter eggs of all time.

Did you watch the TV in GTA4? Most of it isn't related to the game's story but represents ironic social criticism in general and this is a spot on.

That's why I said 90% and not 100%. Even great series' like Neon Genisis Evangeleon(Spelling?) and Ghost in the Shell have rediculously convoluted storylines and pseudo-philosophic ramblings...

Anime hasn't been like that since the origanl Dragon Ball, goes to show just how out of touch some people are.

Still it made me smile.

Wut? It's one of the TV channels in GTA. They're all either satire or parody. It has everything to do with the game.

There's still plenty of low-ball anime out there.. I don't think this missed the mark by much.

If you're comparing this to dragonball you've entirely missed the point.
This would've been parody 10 years ago, today it's more like the norm. If you disagree, consider yourself to be the lucky 10% Frozpot has been talking about.

lol, anime is soo much more than just these clichès, which at most make up 10% of all anime

I guess some people only watched 3-4 shows and thought knew exactly what anime is all about... like some people listening to some pop-songs and thinking they knew everything about modern music

Always seemed like the 'satire' 'humour' in GTA was always trying too hard, was always too obvious and was entirely juvenile in places. Hence wasn't funny for me.
