Trailer Xbox 360

Sega sent us this new trailer of Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing showing Banjo and the Xbox 360 avatars in the game. I must admit that seeing the Rare and Sega logos in the same video is not something I expected to ever see.

I believe in this game. Some (stale, boring ppl that is :P) would say this is just a "child game". But I think its wonderful to see someone doing a fun, colourful cart racer to this generation systems (PS3/360)... :)

*creates banjo in modnation racer* I'm sorry, what?

Just joking, I'm a huge Rare mark and this is nice, but I'm also pretty sure both these kart racers are going to fail miserably to meet mario karts expectations.

I'm actually hoping that it won't be like Mario Kart and you will actually need to have some skill to win the race instead of relying on the overpowered items you get.

Watched the trailer, and it does indeed look pretty fun. One thing I find odd though... in some levels the graphics looked excellent. In others they looked okay. Shame they're not consistent.

i was never much of mario kart fan, my weapon of choice when it came to kart racers was crash team racing. always prefered it.

have to say tho, modenationracers seems to be the better option in terms of what is on the horizon, i mean, it has an infinate number of tracks. and customisable karts and characters. now just to see if it actually plays as well as crash team racing.

Maybe true, but how much skill can really be applied in a kart racer, drift/boost/shoot random object. It is just good clean fun, and mario kart has to have the best execution I've seen...

I got the modnation racer beta that launched today, but I think its servers are broken at the moment, the scale of the game definitely makes it a much better value than just another entry in the genre. Just like littlebigplanet, but if you were to compare only a few of its levels or the campaign. This game would probably win.

Another plus for the game is its being made by Sumo Digital. I have total faith in them.

what do you know, it is. it really is a shame the 360 isnt coming out with all these games that appeal to me isnt it. who's fault is that exactly? mine? sony's? MS's?

think about it.

Modnation looks brilliant, but I don't see how it's a "better option" when the essential appeal of this game is Sega fanservice. You won't just get a general "kart racing" fanbase looking for the next hot kart racer, you'll get Sega fans who would quite fancy a total orgy in Sega references, music, characters and locations. For them, Modnation is a big, complete "huh.".

so "sega fans" still exsit?..i thought they where ony around back when sonic games where actually good.

in all seriousness tho, the appeal of modenation racers for me is that i can create sonic if i wanted, i can create mario, bowser, crash, nathan drake, rochache, dr manhatten, batman, wolverine.....that's what appeals to me. the fact the game isnt JUST mario kart, it isnt JUST soinic and sega all stars, it isnt JUST crash team racing. it's all of those and then some.

this isnt like LBP which was both massively creative, yet limited as hell when it came to ripping off games (MGS in 2d just wasnt quite the same) this lets you rip off any track from any cart racer and lest you create any character from any game (seriously, check out the character creations people have done alread with a stripped down beta tool set) the only thing missing now is the music, but what's betting the game will have custom soundtracks.

so yes, this arguabley will appeal to these rare species know as "sega fans", but in terms of an actual game. i'm far more interested in modenation racers for the same reason i love LBP, i can go online and find hundreds of fresh new tracks that i've never played before. and in racers especially, content is probably the most important thing and MNR has infinate content.

i find it hard not to be interested in that.

Well it comes down to how this plays obviously, but for me I'm gonna get both for ENTIRELY different reasons.

I created a Sonic Sackboy in LBP and that's.. great to an extent.. but it's hardly playing on nostalgia. Like.. at all.

However, shooting tennis balls in the face of terrorists in the Virtua Cop harbour in Sega Superstars Tennis with the actual music playing.. that's nostalgia. That's what I'm looking for in this at the bare minimum.

If it happens to play really well in addition that's good too obviously. :D

i guess nostalgia only works for me with franchises that havnt gone completely down the shitter.

if this as released on the dreamcast i'd have probably felt the same as you since the characters ment something back then (although the beginings of te end), but now, after so many terrible, TERRIBLE sonic games, the less i see of him, and his games, the better.

as for the rest of the "all stars" well, lets just say i dont really see many character that are worth getting nostalgic over.

Well, when I play Sega Superstars Tennis as Beat vs Ulala on the Outrun beach to the sound of Magical Sound Shower, I can't even remotely care whether any of those franchises have gone down the shitter to be honest.

Or maybe it was just a joke about your not so subtle love for Sony. I could care less about defending MS as I personally also think that Sony's first party games are starting to really show up MS stuff.

I was just making a light hearted joke, hence the winking smirk face-thing (w/e the fuck you call those...).

If it makes you feel better, I voted for uncharted 2 as game of the year on gamespot today
