Bathurst is certainly doing the rounds now, EA dropped the license maybe?

Not trolling or anything, but I still think the cars and lights look better on GT current gen than Forza next gen, which is pretty amazing from PD developers. There is no contest on the environments tho, in favor of Forza next gen obviously.

I cannot wait to see GT on next gen

Environments in GT games this gen have been awful, such little effort compared to the cars.

i think forza looks better, they've finally caught up with lighting, looking less like a stylized racer now.

but i am more impressed with that polyphony are doing with 7 year old hardware, then what T10 are doing on brand spanking new, way more powerful tech. same goes for driveclub. there is just nothing there to be impressed with given the power of these consoles.

I'm not getting this game until I get a new TV. I agree with comments here, this is on 7 year old hardware....which is amazing. I haven't seen any next gen Forza, so I don't have a opinion on it.

I find GT better (more realistic)
Forza use filter (brownish look (sundown)
- it feels not right for a racing Game - looks good but mhhh )

So development time doesn't count? Cause even after spending 5 years of development to catch up to Forza 3/4, PD took 3 years to develop GT 6 on a familiar console while T10 only had 2 years to make a next gen launch game, with some work in Forza Horizon in the middle.

I have no doubt that Turn 10 are the most talented. Too bad their publisher is MS, which kinda "forces" them to work on 2 by 2 years of development.

Anyway, from the images GT6 looks great. Hope it stays that way when it comes out. And this time without recycled cars from the PS2, please.

As much as I love the GT series, GT6 won't ACTUALLY look like this in motion. The one thing I don't like about PD is that they never release proper screen shots or in-game videos of their games. Just pre-rendered trailers and supersampled photo mode screen shots. It's all a bit misleading. In reality, as in gameplay, the game will most likely be pretty jagged looking and will struggle to maintain 60fps at 1080p.

Alot of Forza 5 is even the same thing. Baked on shadows fixed post processing effects to make it look like a particular time of day.

What is it about the racing genre that draws out more graphics discussion than any other genre? Lol shame you don't hear more about actual gameplay/features.

^^ I'd say 75% of console fans tend to put graphics over gameplay!

Just console fans? Pc guys are all about gameplay? : P
Anyhow for 7 year old hardware they certainly know how to squeeze the fruit. I just hope there is no more premium/old shit car model bullshit this time as that was ridiculous. That and the environments could be better but I'm betting they fix that this time around. If drive club sucks this will have to tide me over until I eventually break down and get an Xbox one for forza.

becasue they *used to* be the go-to genre for visual awesomeness. and now they're some of the least impressive titles. the fact people can even compare the likes of GT6 and forza5/driveclub just shows how little the visuals have improved. when i played motorstorm and PGR3 i felt like they where next gen, but these new net gen racers just look massively underwhelming for hardware up to 8 times more powerful. what the hell happened?

Way overstated buddy. I find every other genre to be lacking come launch. But the fps budget is wayyyyy above racers at this point. I doubt the genre will lead the pack when its not a mega seller like CoD halo etc.
But even so I swear the fanboys are just naturally drawn to a Forza/driveclub/gt thread like nothing else.
Forza and driveclub are not uber impressive but neither is killzone or ryse. But I'm sure forza 6,gt 7, dirt 4, etc will all look very nice.

i'm sure they will too, but they're kind of irrelivant to the discussion of these launch titles. i'm not going to comment on these titles based on the potential of the platform. if a game impresses me visually, it impresses me visually. and some launch titles manage it, others (forza/driveclub) do not.

Not impressed with Forza5, seen the video vs 4 and it's close tbh.

Driveclub isn't perfect, but it's doing lighting, on another scale to forza.

I think it's worth stating that it's a bit silly to compare single screenshot renders (which these are) to the actual game running in real time using the hardware. That's where, and only where, you'll see any significant difference in any game. You can make a pretty single image with anything, even on current gen. It's when it moves that betrays it.

Very true, which makes the bullshots from forza and driveclub even more ridiculous. Surely these games don't need to be relying on supersampled shots, with improved motion blur and DOF etc anymore?

Quite why Polyphony like to show texture seams, low res textures, trees intersecting the ground, and generally sloppy env art work is beyond me.

Forza looks MUCH better. It's really like a Aussie sunset. If you're saying GT looks better- you're really saying "I like Sony... so there." That's not to say GT doesn't look very nice. Beautiful in fact, but clearly it's a different time of day and that SHOULD change the colors. But it's clear there's much more tech going on in FM 5 and it's making a beautiful difference.
