Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

As promised Electronic Arts released the first full gameplay video of Battlefield 3, named Faultline episode 1. And as expected, it's highly impressive. The video is currently from the game's official site and so not as high quality as usual, but you can count on us for a high quality version, hopefully even 1080p as soon as possible.
Update 2: HQ version is up (1080p).

If they didnt have "Battlefield" slapped on the videos I would have thought it was the next Call of Duty Modern Warfare or Medal of Honor, thats how much they are similair these days :P

Great graphics engine...wasted unfortunately on a setting which is getting as stale as WW2 did a few years back. I mean they went with near future for a setting and made it completely contemporary when they could have bumped it ten years further and at least gotten rid of the painfully familiar M4 carbine and updated the tech/ uniforms. Still, it looks superb it's just tough for me to get excited for the fucking middle east as a backdrop but maybe it's only a small portion of the game, fingers crossed.

While MAG had 256 players on PS3 without any significant lag or any at all :)

Graphics are great but they are wasted in the same setting like other "modern warfares" are in, along with MW3 coming out its enough.
Where is the creativity in artstyle.

Its like Crysis 2, we have seen NY so many times in other stuff that it is sickening to see it again, with such a engine like Cryengine 3 it could have been much better.
No doubt that BF3 looks fantastic, but again, wasted on a modern setting that is uninspired.

I would have definitely been hyped if they went with the futuristic direction they once did, what made them go back is confusing.

Ah well, fans will eat it up, for MP alone :)

Its battlefield... nobody cares about the SP. Creativity? I don't see how they could make this game any other way.

Don't like the design, looks like another heavily scripted shooter, I doubt there'll be any innovation. No squad mechanics, just FOLLOW! *sad face*

But damn, what a technical showcase. Perfect for surround sound.

Crativity, how about some Killzone style MP? you played it, you saw some creativity in how sci-fi and classes merges together like spawning in turrets, calling in drones, having exo-skeleton mechs, infiltators...etc.

In sci-fi creativity can be unlimited.
From vehicles design/purpose, to how the settings looks like, each map be completely unique, how the weapons looks/sounds/animates or even do (example is Resistance)...etc.

I am sure if Dice wanted to do something, they are talented enough to do so.
But they have been doing so much modern that I dont think they will even bother, except that futuristic BF.

Honestly it feels more realistic to me then Call of Duty or MOH.
There was no music at all during the campaign here as it seems,
more real and sound effects.
Good atmosphere !

Its set in modern time, its the sequel to BF2. Wouldnt make any sense to do anything drastic like you are suggesting.

I'm really hoping they haven't sacrificed the destruction from BC2 for the real pretty graphics this engine is capable off as that was on the biggest highlights for me in BC2. PC maxed out, it's one the prettiest games and the destruction just looks phenomenal all the time. Hope they keep the audio to the quality of bc2 as well.

Yeah. Because clearly Battlefield hasn't been super popular and the majority of BF fans want a drastic change to the fucking formula.
